Is there any limit to how long a short story can be as long as it fits in one post?

It's up to you. I posted a short story in three parts that was about 14k words. I felt that it would'be been too long to post all at once. Still, there's no limit on post length.

Hey guys, I loved the writer's discuss (in general) about first paragraphs and how people could post theirs to get some feedback on it. And as I'm currently suffering from a bit of writer's block I was thinking of using the time I usually spend frustrating over my lack of advancement to hone my skills.

So would you be ok if I posted somewhat of a feedback thread, where people could post parts of their writing (as in descriptions, final paragraphs, openings...) and have it critiqued by the community? I realise this would be similar to the writer's discuss in some way, however I think I'm not the only one who would love to improve.

I think the Workshop group already covers that ^^

While you're right, I looked into it and it's not really what i was hoping to go for. My idea doesn't really fit their format and to be honest, the workshop seems to be governed by CB, I doubt that would be the place I would start looking for writer content.

The Workshop is a site-wide group that is for all content. Why start a new place for one specific nich when it is already available?

Because the Workshop is dominated by the CB group, most rules regulate WIP Character Builds, and many TT members don't check out the Workshop often. I think having one here would be helpful.

We currently have several people who have posted stories (or parts of stories) in the Workshop, it's for all groups and Anh content can be posted there. It might be mostly occupied by Character Builds but the only way to stop that is for other groups to post content there. The rules there regulate all content the same way (other than an extra 250 words and perk spread requirement.)

This just seems like the kind of thing that the Workshop is designed for, no, it is the kind of thing the workshop is designed for.

I don't comment here much (in fact I joined the group just to reply) but I'd like to encourage people to use the Workshop for its intended goal and to firmly stamp out this belief that it's for Character Builds only. The Workshop is for content from any group on the site. I think stories would benefit more from the Workshop than even Character Builds if more people here gave it a chance. PS: if this makes no sense blame the sleep deprivation... 4:00 AM is not the best time to leave any comment. Might reply again when I'm awake.

I think the issue is that writers want feedback from other writers. I myself don't visit the workshop much, so I don't know how they handle things there. Perhaps we could start a critique group. The idea's been tossed around before.

One way we could use the Workshop would be if someone posted a piece or half piece there then the writer could leave a comment in TT stating that they have a piece of writing in the workshop. That would inform other TT Members of its existence so hopefully they would have a look. I for one would be willing to read and offer assistance and I know other members would as well.

Whether we do that or not I'm all for a critique group as it will open discussions in TT.
