I used Breton for two of my Demonhunters for their racial, nothing beats 100% magic resist at level 1. But the very first DH I made was high elf. More health level ups that way.

Waitaminute... You've played this! What are you asking about race for? :P

I couldn't decide what race to pick there were so many cool ones :( I ended up going with a nord, since I have never played a nord Demonhunter before

I don't know if this will help but there is a mod on skyrim nexus called helmless warrior that removes the helmet requirement from the light and heavy armor trees. Hope that helps!

I have skyrim redone and have zero trouble with this build, I just have to be careful, watch my stats, and use tatics as needed and I come out fine

I like the ebony mail and the shrouded hood with daedric boots and gauntlets. I also like the dwarven black bow of fate. Btw I know the ebony mail doesn't fit in with the whole... you know...demon hunter thing considering it's a daedric artifact.

I see no harm in using daedric artifacts, my demon hunter collected all the artifacts and locked them away to prevent mortals from abusing their power, so go nuts!

    Wow that's a great idea!

Yeah I thought so too! The Demon Hunter can easily be role played as a dark knight style character, one of my most role play heavy characters was a nord Demon Hunter named Azriel (a cookie to whoever figures out the name) was a rather odd nord, preferring to use crossbows and magic to deal with her foes and a rather interesting take on daedric artifacts collecting them and locking them away so their power was not abused by those of ill intent...
