Well, my Messiah once wandered in the desert for 40 days and 40 nights... He's more of a resto-mage/supporter, but you could swap in Alteration and clothing / Alik'r hood for the desert vibe.

    Hi, Family!

I've been searching for something rather specific, but I've been out of luck:

My Rito'rishaj'iit build sounds like this except i don't use alteration.  Was this a build you saw before and are trying to find again?

So I've been heavily invested into Fallout but want to catch myself before I experience any kind of burn out from it. As such, I'm gonna go for a super fun liesurely Skyrim playthrough, but rather than do an unplanned/first timer style build I want to try out something made by our awesome builders. So can you give me any suggestions that generally pertain to an adventurer/artifact hunter/wanderer type roleplay that'll let me get immersed without being too weighty with roleplay. I just want to enjoy adventure in its purest form. Thanks!

Got some classics for ya! I'll add the Treasure Hunter by beancounter to add onto Motty's suggestions, it's one of the oldies that still holds up now., and then there's the Veteran by Ponty, a versatile explorer, but it lacks a roleplaying description that Motty's list has, but thats more of a product of when it was made.

This is really vague, but I'm kinda frustrated, I need a build that can get me back into the game, I'm in this loop at the minute of restarting and restarting, I'm just boring myself, I like builds that can do most quests in the game. I'm not a big fan of crafting (especially alchemy), I also am not very good at playing as vamps due to the silly regen stuff. I like most of the combat styles, but would love to try something new. I've played a hella lot of builds, unfortunately a lot of them didn't make it far like I've said. Something likely to survive up to level 50 at least with myself would be great, I've never got a build to that level and I've owned Skyrim since launch! Mods aren't really an option for me.

Ah, game staleness followed by excessive character switching. Been there.

If I may be equally vague, there are two methods I've found that can help alieviate that kind of frustration:

    1. Look for a build that uses a skill or a combination of skills that you haven't considered before: restoration/sneak, illusion/two handed, or any odd combination that you might not have tried yet.

    2. For me, I find my characters last longer if I can find a really strong motivation that justifies why I'm doing a particular quest. Put simply, injecting more role-play can make any build more interesting. For example, right now I'm running a character based on Sara Lance, a DC universe character from the television show "Legends of Tomorrow". While this may seem cheesy, what keeps me going with her is that Sara's backstory in the television series actually ties into almost every quest in Skyrim. She's been shipwrecked and kidnapped (caught crossing the border at the start), wandered around a bit, became a criminal and assassin (Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherood), fell in love with the daughter of an evil mastermind and became undead (Dawnguard), and eventually developed sonic powers, became a hero, and led a band of misfits like herself (main quest and dragonborn, companions). Because the character's motivations are clear in my head, I can jump through all of the hoops, even though like yourself I've played this game hundreds of times. This in spite of the fact that Sara's skill set is hardly unique or original.

If you know what the character's story is going to be, it's a lot easier to replay questlines that you've done a million times over. My advice: don't worry so much about what a character can do, but look for why the character is doing it. Find a build with a backstory and motivation that appeals to you.

First off, you should check out the Roleplay Group for tips on how to get more into your character. I find that half the battle is creating a PC you actually care about and want ot advance, and with the Quick Jump Into Roleplaying you should be able to find the basics of how to create a character. If you need any more help, don't hesitate to ask me or Potemus!

But now onto builds. It looks like you need some interesting gameplay, something that differs from the norm. The Squib is an excellent build that relies on Staves and Scrolls, a fun and interesting way to look at the game. Then there's The Demonhunter, the original and the best, the most liked build on the Vault by far with excellent gameplay.

Yup...what Zonnonn said. Demonhunter is amazing!
