I think you're thinking of The Arcane Marksman.

It's similar, but no this isn't what I was thinking of. If I remember right the character wore the Dunmer Outfit and had 100% spell absorb. Thank you anyway.

100% Spell absorbtion doesn'r ring any bells for a Ponty build... it might be Mason's?

But in any case, I've found a few more of Ponty's builds for ya that are kinda similar, and they're great builds besides.

Hey all. Trying to get into Skyrim and want a good build to start off with. Can somebody name drop some really popular high quality builds & character builders?

Hey! First welcome and glad to see you posting. I was a former host of this section along with Vargr White-tree for the better part of a year and I have seen some top builds come my way. This is part one, because I'll have to head to work soon.

Play anything by the Lorc of Flowers and you will not be disappointed. I think he's not mentioned as a builder nearly enough and he has produced some of the best stuff on the vault. Go have a look and you'll love them all, but I'll highlight a few here. He's known for creating some quirky characters and sometimes his builds force you to think about mechanics in a different way (read that they are not over-powered, but end up being powerful).

Liturgy of Affliction - A collaboration with Teineeva that takes the lore book Liturgy of Affliction and makes it a build. Yes, these guys take books and make them builds.

The Greenskin - One of the best follower-based builds I've ever read, inspired by his observations of the dynamics between thieves and warriors in other games like Baldur's gate and D&D. Take an Orc thief and then slap him with Erik the Slayer for some fun.

The Goldpact Knight -  If you don't want to be Dragonborn, just play this build. Another favorite of mine.

A lot of his builds have a flesh-out quality to them, a great combination of gameplay and roleplay, and it is very understandible that many of them end up becoming characters in his fanfiction. Other builds to check out by him are his Bleak Walker, The Fist of the Thalmor, Warlock of Orsinium and his Oblivion builds.

Another wonderful builder is Shinjin and you'll see when you look at his work interesting characters that make you want to play through their stories. I think that is the issue a lot with restarteritis. In my eyes, gameplay only takes you so far, especially when you have played through quests multiple times. You say you are trying to get "into Skyrim" which means something in it is making you hesistate.

Jo'Ji and the Rogue - Some of our best builds in my time as host have come from Contests and Events. This was our last contest winner, a clever build that uses console commands and fun roleplay to recreate the Dagi, a race of Khajiit.

Lonely Heart (of Darkness) - A brawling Altmer who is looking for love? What is great about this build is its atypical use of a race. And it's a punching build that isn't a Khajiit. Much smiles.

Side note - check out Golden Fool's The Last Executioner for more Atypical Altmer action.

Back to Shin, he has way more builds, I linked you to his page so you can check his stuff out. In fact, if you look at a person's page, you'll see a category called "Shared Content". Many of our builders put their builds there.

Okay, I got another contest build for you. If you want to play slimy and evil. Literally, you will be slimy and evil cause you'll be a sload, look no further than your own host's epic build, Vargr White-Tree's The Graveworm. The exotic race contest was one of the strongest source for quality builds and Vargr's take on the sload one of th hightlghts.

We'll touch more on Vargr's builds in Part II of this post. Yes, there will be a part two. You asked, and Imma gonna answer and when I'm done, you'll have a deep understanding of who's building and what they're building at Tamriel Vault. You'll understand the quality here and why I'm so proud of it.

I feel like an idiot for not doing this beforehand, but typing in "dunmer outfit" and "bound bow" into google with "tamrielvault" next to it gave me exactly what I was looking for. It was Teccam's Sapiarch. I hate myself :P

Lol, I do not lie, we are now onto part 2. :D

Vargr White-Tree is the current host for Skyrim CB and his builds have some really inventive gameplay concepts. He also is a fan of horror movies and actually has done a great job Skyrimizing some horror movie classics, which extends to his fondness for necromancy in builds.

Creature of Lake Ilinalta - Creature of the Black Lagoon in Skyrim. Yes please.

The Courier - Run around Skyrim as our favorite npc, the courier.

The Poison Widow - One of his underrated assassin builds using alchemy.

You still with me? Not overloaded by builds yet? Good, I'll close off part 2 by mentioning two builders that I am very fond of, partly because they really explore lore concepts in their building. Not that other builders don't, but these two builders really capture this flavor.

First is Paul England. He is a builder who tends to show a fondness for Nord culture in his building. He has a benchmark series of builds based on the Atmoran totems. A series of nine builds that highlight the features of the various animal totems in Skyrim. They explore vastly different gameplay while at the same time continuing the continuity of the totems.

Next is Phil, or Paws as we know him now. During a time in CB when people were mostly portraying Altmer as power-hungry megolomaniac vampire lords of everything, Paws decided to create an Altmer build that was... good. A decent, law-abiding Altmer Dragonborn that upholds the values of a pre-Thalmor Summerset. The Knight of the Crystal Tower expands on the Tower lore by creating a build based upon its ideals.

And then he creates this sexy thang. The Banshee of the Reach. A mini build full of big axes, even big tits, and.. talking with animals, all while using the Ordinator mod. Check out his stuff, you will not be disappointed.

But Imma not done yet! There is more to cover, but I got work again. :D Let's see how many parts I can go. So many builders to cover, so little time.

Is there a build where you play as dragon trapped in human body? I'm really interesting in something like that, but I have no ideas jow to play it.

I can't remember anything specifically like that, but Battlemages like the Dragon Sage by Noodles, the Aspect Knight by Ponty or the Dragon Templar by Kaiser would fit, you just need to add some personalised roleplay.

I want a good, fun build focusing on beast form; preferably a warrior. Can someone help me find one?

At the minute I'm still really unsure what to play, I just want to explore and see all the stuff I haven't seen before, there's so much particularly the dawnguard side of dawnguard dlc and the dragonborn dlc, I don't like crafting much. There are a lot of locations I haven't seen and side quests I haven't done, I just wanna pick a random direction and go with it. But be somewhat capable too.
