A cool mod to use along with alchemy is Take notes journal of the dragonborn you can write down the cool recipes you discover. And it can also be used while in game to keep other notes you might want to keep in order not to forget later on or something like that. I 'm not sure if the mod is available for SE though.

The alpha version for SE can be found here (on Nexus): https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/13570?tab=description

After arriving in the Inn Ostium paid for a Room and ate the rest of his Provisions while reading the Book he found. He found a few Alchemical Recipes scribbled onto the last Page. He ripped out the Page and stuffed it into his Bag. After that he went to sleep. In the Morning He bought a quick Breakfast and went out again to gather Ingredients.

He visited the Alchemy lab on the Outskirts of Dragonbridge. Both Bodys were missing, "The Wolves must have taken them". Ostium stummbled upon a small Shack. He entered and found a Dog and a dead body on a Bed. He Noticed a Journal. After reading it he looked at the dog, "Meeko huh? wanna join Me boy? youre owner would have wanted you to live on ". Meeko barked and licked his Hand. Ostium buried the former Owner with a Shovel he found leaned on the back of the Shack.

Ostium took Meeko back to The Four Shields Inn. He Asked the Owner if Meeko could stay there for a while since he had to do a few Things in Solitude. He payed him 5 Septims and went on his way.

Okay, the first entry. I myself am appalled by my horrendous language, but this is all what I could manage, lol.

17th of Last Seed, morning, Helgen

The dragon was not something she expected to see.

She did not expect, for anyone or anything at all to rob her of her mug of tea. Well, of the doubtful stuff, consisting of ground canis root and some other local herbs, that these people called tea.

She was sitting alone at a table in the empty hall of the inn. All the Nords ran outside to watch the Imperials chop off some other Nords' heads. How could any sane person really want to see such a thing, was entirely beyond her. Ugh... Disgusting barbarians. She failed to stifle a shiver that ran through her spine.

And that stupid war that they started just because of their stupid false god? If anything, it had only resulted in the prices going crazy and the roads becoming even more dangerous. That, with the addition of the cold what was unpleasant even now, in summer, and will grow much more so by the start of winter, would make the life in Skyrim, with its nearly unexistent civilization, utterly unbearable. And the local Nords... Yes, their very presence might as well count as a trouble unto itself. As little as she liked the barbarians in Cyrodiil, those, at the very least, bathed from time to time.

Deathbell almost finished her mug of tea by the time she managed to will those irritated thoughts out of her mind, and considered pouring herself another when a strange sound from outside reached her ears, sending a shiver down her spine. It was not entirely unlike the roar of a bear, yet also resembled the cry of a gryphon, and Bell could not recall ever hearing of any creature living in Skyrim that could make a sound like this. She wouldn’t assume she knew of all the beasts that inhabited this land though. Maybe it was nothing out of the ordinary after all, even though he had not heard anything like this in the days since her arrival.

She decided she did not want more tea and stood up, leaving the mug on the table for the barmaid and picking up her satchel. This little town near the border was frustratingly boring, with only two stores, one of which only sold Imperial equipment, and this inn. Not much to occupy oneself with and Bell anticipated nothing but another day in the company of only her lute and two books she found in the inn, both which she already memorized. One of them was a guide for Imperial officers and the other a history tome about some war in Valenwood. Normally, she would find herself company and entertainment without effort, especially male company, but the local folks were too much stress for her nose and ears, not too mention that they were also rather dumb.

She hoped that in a few days a caravan would pass by, or maybe some mercenaries. Surely they wouldn't be opposed to such an attractive and respectable woman as herself traveling in their company. She needed to get in some big city.

With a weary sigh, she stepped towards the stairs that led to the second floor, only to freeze in place when another roar pierced the air, notably closer this time. No, that definitely was not normal. Bell turned around and walked to the door. She could hear her own hasty heartbeat and her hands were shaking ever so slightly.

She did not make it to the door. There was a new noise outside that sounded not as much of a roar as an explosion and suddenly she could not feel the floor under her feet. She fell backward, her shoulder and back hitting the stairs painfully, and before her mind even registered the fact that her body just flew about four meters across the room, the ceiling was falling on her. A shriek of terror that she did not recognize as her own tore from her throat.

She did not know how she managed to roll under the stairs, nor did she know how she found the strength to jump aside when the stairs collapsed too. There was a wide opening where a part of a wall had been just seconds ago and Bell willed her body to move. She ran outside just in time to escape another piece of the ceiling collapsing over her head.

Her consciousness refused to believe the sight that met her eyes. Around her, the Helgen was a roaring inferno, buildings turned into piles of burning debris over mere seconds. Bolts of fire were shooting from the darkened sky. And then she saw it.

An enormous winged shadow blacker than a moonless night, it rose in the air over what remained of the inn’s roof, its fiery red eyes staring right at Bell who stood completely frozen in horror, her mind struggling to comprehend the reality of the creature she was seeing, for it was not some hypothetical specimen of Skyrim’s fauna.

     It was a dragon.

Ostium arrived in Solitude and entered the Alchemy Store. He went to the Alchemy Lab and started brewing. He remembered the Page and pulled it out his Bag. "Boil an Imp stool and use the Mortar and Pestle to cruch a Piece of Cannis root. add the cruched root to the petals. The Mixture will dissolve the Ingredients and you are left with a poison stopping Movement. Ostium bought a Cannis root and followed the Procedure. He also made a few more Health Potions and solled some of his potions and Ingredients.

Angeline Morrard the store owner asked him to talk to Captain Aldis about her daughter. Ostium talked to the Captain and convinced him to tell him about Angelines Daughter. Ostium told Her the Bad News. She thanked him and Ostium went on to the Fletcher. He bought an Imperial Bow and 2 Quivers of Steel Arrows.

He bought some Food at the Inn and went back to Meeko. The Two of Them going back to the Shack to spend the Night. Ostium gave Meeko 2 slices cooked Meat and after eating both went to Sleep.

Well, it's the same events, the Imperials have arrested the Dragonborn and the Stormcloaks, and all. It's just that Bell isn't the Dragonborn, she was just staying at the Helgen inn.

She might run into him at some point. Idk when and how though. I don't know how her story will progress yet. Haven't thought it through.

The thing is, Bell is not so highly educated as to know about things like Dragonborns, Dragon War and all these Nord tales. She is just your average city Altmer.
