Lol. If I encountered a Skyrim character called by one of these names, I'd wince a lot. Well, Malcolm and William might pass if they would be Bretons. But if if they were any other race... ugh...

Yes, I was thinking, and in the end I came to the conclusion that it belongs here and not there. Because it's mainly about the RP and only a little bit about writing.

That's why there are the entries, where you have to explain why you make certain choices, changes, etc. So everyone can see how you roleplay it.

The fact that you thought it suggests that there's more than a 'remote connection' to the Story Corner. It's all well and good saying that it's only a little about writing, and that you can explain your choices in entries, but I've seen at least one entry that was just narrative, which I'll attribute to the fact that there's no rule asking to explain those things. Now I'm not saying that it needs to be in every post, but the fact that it isn't mentioned in the main post means that it could be more frequent, which I think would make it feel more like the Story Corner than Roleplaying. So can you please just add a little note to make it a little clearer.

    Done.

I already regretted 10 times that I mentioned yhe Story Corner at all. Really, should keep all my doubts to myself, lol.

I dont know, i dont like having to write down how i roleplay it feels like im back at school. You should be able to find out my decisions by reading. I act out alot of stuff, so should i also write how i slow walked through Town? guess i need to change how i write and do less thought up stuff.

Idk too. The "thought up stuff" is the actual point of this challenge, no? Should we just write a list of actions we did in the game, or what? I don't think I'd even be able to make such a list, let alone read one. In my RP I always try to go as far from the mechanics as possible.

Tbh, I'm slowly beginning to realize that this was not a very good idea. I thought that it would be cool to share the way I RP in case someone else might enjoy it too, but maybe was wrong.

So, it's about time I write my character's profile and his backstory. I 'm not sure how often I will update this since I 've been entertaining the idea to mod the hell out of Oblivion and play a bit after all these years. Anyways let's move on to the profile. I will make a character relying heavily on Conjuration and touch a bit on necromancy as well since we also happened to have that discussion in the Grimoire Challenge topic.

    Race: Altmer

Name: Baloc Asceval (This is a Breton name. More info in his backstory)

    Sex: Male

Age: Born at the 8th day of Rain's Hand 4E 173 under the sign of The Mage. He is 28 years old when he came to Skyrim.

    Standing Stone: The Mage

Place of Birth & Origin: Alinor. He has no memory of it, he grew up in Cyrodiil

    Factions: College of Winterhold

    Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Occupation: External affairs Advisor & Scholar of the College of Winterhold. (1) See notes below.

Core Mods: Imperious Races, Andromeda Standing Stones, Ordinator, Alternate Start, Forgotten Magic, Apocalypse magic of Skyrim, Helgen Reborn (rebuilding Helgen fits in nicely with his roleplay occupation in Skyrim).

Religion: He never gave much thought to the subject. His view on the Aedra and Deadra is that they are just far stronger individuals whose power goes outside the scope of what most mortals can comprehend. He has though more respect for those among them with a relation to knowledge and magic like Magnus.

Major Skills: Alteration, Conjuration, Restoration, One Handed

Minor Skills: Enchanting, Alchemy, Lockpicking, Speech. Since I will be joining the CoW some perks will go into enchanting as well. Alchemy is used for some very basic potions and will be unperked.

    Backstory:

Baloc was born in the capital of Summerset Isles, Alinor (all of Summerset Isle can also be refered to as Alinor). Due to certain events his family had to leave Alinor when he was still a mere two years old. At first they went to High Rock and from High Rock to Cyrodiil where they settled down. They opened a shop dealing in every kind of item related to the arcane, enchanting suplies, books, scrolls, alchemy reagents etc. Buiseness was going well and Baloc grew in a luxurious and comfortable environment. Since a very young age given his parent's occupation he showed great interest into the study of the arcane. He spent most of his time reading at the shop until his mother decided for him to take lessons in swordsmanship since all he did was sitting over a book day in and day out along with other basic lessons by numerous tutors.

Things were moving on like this and the young Baloc was showing great promise in his magical and other scholarly related studies and even his swordmanship had come a long way from the time he had just started and couldn't even hold a sword properly. The most notable event in his life was when his parents told him about their past. They used to be thieves and not just any run of the mill thieves. Their mastery of magic gave them an edge in every type of thievery no matter how hard their heist was. After they went to High Rock and stole great amounts of money and precious items they decided to return and settle down in Summerset. When Baloc was born he was sick, dying and it was not a simple sickness but it was magical in nature. Everything they had earned was spent into the greatest mages and healers Summerset had to offer and it was still not enough. So in their desperation the couple decided to plan another big heist for the sake of their child but their luck ran out and after geting caught the aftermath of their escape created quite a big uproar. One thing led to another and so they imidiately fled Summerset forging fake identities and names in High Rock before moving to Cyrodiil.

Baloc's condition was healed for the most part but left him behind an "ability" that is actually a double edged sword while practicing magic but it has its uses nonetheless. (Gold and Glass ability from Imperious races mod).

After hearing the story Baloc just looked calmly at his parents and said thank you. He had never spoken or meant any words as serious as he did at the time. Also the part about his parents being thieves didn't bother him that much, when it came down to it he would still chose his parents over anyone even if they had done worse than just steal from them. He is no advocate of justice but just adapts according to his wishes not the wishes or what others think.

A few years later Baloc decided to travel in Skyrim. His reasons to undertake such a trip was to see if he could strike any new buiseness deals since the war could be a time of opportunity and most importantly he was interested in the ancient nordic ruins for his research. He also wanted to go into an adventure and temper himself a bit since he had long heard about the harsh conditions in this land of snow and ice. While being there he would also visit and have a look at the College of Winterhold, he might find some fellow colleagues and might pick up something new regarding the study of the arcane.

    (1) Note: This will be his occupation in Skyrim which I will roleplay of course. His job in general will be to go around representing the CoW trying to improve the opinion of the people on it and help with problems that are magical in nature like undead, vampires, dragons or just require a "magical hand" to resolve themselves easily. Of course using this identity he wouldn't mind lending a hand to solve other problems that would be of benefit to him some way or another.

So this guy is ok with thieves? He and Enthir might become fast friends. So much potential for profitable deals.

Still a bit unclear about the name. Did his family change their names? Why didn't they pick something Altmeri then?

Also, the faction you mention in the profile is not one your character is going to join but one they are already belong to, by the time they come to Skyrim. Like, if your guy was already a member of the College and now is returning to Skyrim after some travel, something like that.
