Character Build: The Illithid

Decent is quite the understatement there. I think amazing is the word you're looking for.

Hmm, I think I've liked two of those three, and have yet to read the third.  Will have to do that at some point.

I'd just settle for my first build to get to Exalted.  It's been stuck.

I'll probably have to post another build or two and get some "street cred" going first though.

Alchemy can be a bit grindy but I usually just do two or three big grinds of blue butterfly wing and blue mountain flower and break them up throughout my playthrough. It's not that bad. Resto is only taken to 30 for that extra Magicka regeneration. Easy to hit with a trainer so no grind there. Play it! It's fun! Control minds and shiz lol

Thanks Curse, that means a lot coming from anothe great builder. I have no new builds in the works but may collaborate with Tim on some new content. He is always findin new things to explore lol. We'll see what the future holds. For now I'm content with finishing my short story series :D

Sp, collecting everything I come across, I never touched alchemy till lvl 28. Then after turning about 2/3s of them into potions I come out lvl 31 with 83 in alchemy. But the items I need for the recipes for this guys were used up in leveling XD. 16 lvls were trained by whats her face in raven rock, or whatever. She could only do up to expert.

Apocrypha is soo easy with this guy, muffle, invisible, and run past everything.

First time ever touching the actual DB questline, holy crap was it short! 1-2 hours tops! I did differ from the build highlight in one way, instead of vampire gloves (light armor) I went with chitin heavy. Their heavy, and look a lot more like claws as opposed to just black gloves with metal tips on the end. Planning on upgrading to Daedric gloves... if he ever gets high enough. :P

Funny thing is, I never once used any potions of any kind until I fought Miraak, and then it was just Cyrodilic Brain Syrum and Dunmeri Cerbral Extract. Before that fight never used any healing or magicka or anything potions. There is one other time, I forget what it was, I later used a couple magicka potions, but otherwise still have never touched potions. Though I am starting to feel the sting of lvled enemies resisting my spells, though only sometimes, so I'll probably be using them more as I get bigger still.

Sitting at lvl 33 now, just unlocked Blackreach, and have all Black Books except Kolbjorn Barrow. Still waiting on that third note....

Now that I have my home base, debating either Dawnguard questline (another I've never bothered to finish) for drain vitality and other goodies, or jump into DB and start collecting Marked for Death words.

For now though, I might give this character a break. I've had a lot of fun with it so far, but usually around 30ish is where I stop most builds anyways. Starting to lose steam on this one too. XD Also, sitting on 50k gold, wondering what the crap to do with it.???

By loosing steam, I mean like, the build "feels" complete, and there doesn't seem to be much reason at all to continue. He has his home in the underdark, why should he give two craps about the Volkihar of the DB? What could they possibly have to offer to such a being of such an indominable overpowering presence?

Awesome! Sounds like you really got into this one. I'd definitely take him through the Volkihar questline simply because it will really challenge you. If you've relied on Vampiric Drain and Illusion spells you'll be very hard pressed against a mass of undead. But that's where Miraak's Staff comes in handy. Your call but I'm glad you gave it a whirl and had some fun bending wills. Don't forget to pick up the Ritual Stone (possibly stored in the Aetherial Crown) and raise an army for one last hurrah, ravishing several towns with a hell-siege from the Underdark! Cheers!

One of the most fun playthroughs I ever had.
