Dragonborn becoming mute?

I have wondered if the Dragonborn could become mute by overusing his/her throat with shouts. I think it's a possibility and an interesting thing to RP.

My reasons for thinking this are is, Dragon bodies are much stronger and more durable than a mortals. The thu'um should leave the user weak after shouting.

And I know someone will say "well he's dragonborn, he has the soul of a dragon, it should be easier for him."... True... But the Dovahkiin is still a mortal, he still feels a little weak by this... How do I know that? Cooldown meter...

I believe that any type of yelling can jack up your throat. So, the Greybeards probably do a lot of exercises, like singers, or something.

Not to brag, (I AM) but I've already addressed this sorta thing in my blog.

"Well he's dragonborn, he has the soul of a dragon, it should be easier for him"

    That's my answer!

He may have the soul of a dragon but he has the body of a mortal.

Yeah, he says something like "it felt like a hurricane in his throat" I think.

Actually dragons do have a cooldown for their shouts, why do you think they don't spam fire breathe indefinitely?

Dude, just do it! You'll love it.

I believe it is not the actual volume of which the Dovahkiin is saying the words, but of the inherent power within the words making them louder than they are being said.

cause if you constantly exhale you'll pass out...As long as you got breath moving, you can theoretically Shout.

    You still gotta breathe though.

Thanks :-) I've been meaning to like them but I keep forgetting.

I've always thought that the louder you said the words the stronger the effect. For example whispering yol would do little more than light a match whilst yelling it sets people on fire.

It's cool man, I'm gonna pump them out anyway, but...if you like them...I might pump them out quicker.

But still, they shout for like 5 seconds then take a breathe, you think they could at least do 10 or 20.

But if that was the case, the other greybeards could just whisper, but no, if they open their mouth then we're probably gonna lose a dimension or two XD

    exactly

so it's not really hard on the throat then, the power of the words causes their loudness, not the dovahkiin raising his voice

They can kill you with a whisper, though.

These are words of power, and shouldn't be used lightly. If they were to be used lightly, the greybeards could just whisper everything.

But, the words pour out like a flood, instead of a small stream.

    My point still stands

that's a lot of air moving though. can you shout for 20 seconds straight?
