well i have to give the cooldown bar something to RP... as i stated, it breaks immersion for me to think of it as nothing more than a game restriction

But if their called shouts why would he whisper 2 0f the "shouts?" Bryn, these are merely called shouts because the ignorance of people in tes. It SOUNDS like shouting. The dragonborn can merely be speaking, it was never proven that he actually was shouting.

because they are stealth shout? it wouldnt make sense if he screamed aura whisper... also, i keep saying this.... HE... SHOUTS... THE... OTHER... SHOUTS. that is why i say it matters cause if what you're saying is true, s/he wouldn't have shouted the words for every other shout besides aura whisper and throw voice (the only shouts that are only useful in stealth)

I HAVE AN IDEA ON WHY THE DOVAHKIIN IS SHOUTING. When you first talk to Paarthurnax he says "Hear my thu'um, match it if you can". To a dragon that might be just talking, but to a mortal, to match it s/he has to shout.

I don't think you get it, I keep saying, THE WORDS OF POWER AMPLIFY OR DE-AMPLIFY THE SOUND. Throw voice he actually could be shouting, but we wouldn't know because the words of the shout decide the sound.

I said he can say the shouts at any volume he wants.

That doesn't make sense if the words decide the volume of the shout.

Don't think of it in terms of mortal/immortal. It would be Dragonborn/non-Dragonborn. "Match it if you can" is just a way of teaching. And maybe he means match the words.

Maybe I'm overthinking this, maybe I'm wrong... But hey, I'll continue to believe it for one main reason... IT'S MY ONLY MOTIVATION TO USE SHOUTS, BUT ALSO RP AS A DRAGONBORN (it is so BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING otherwise, this adds something interesting for me)

@Sidgis, eventually they will, but not necessarily immediately if they are well trained, according to Effects of the Elder Scrolls.  If one is not prepared for the magnitude and trained properly to read a scroll then a novice would lose their sight immediately and it would never return.  Those who regularly read the scrolls eventually go blind, which is the final price.

I was simply making the point that perhaps the dragonborn going mute could be a result of using the shouts, but perhaps not understanding them fully (physically performing them, but not understanding their spiritual significance.)  Just a thought, is all.

You're doubting the throat strength of man who can; hold fire in his palm, take a thu'um to the face, and then sprint for 5 miles, all in a days work. Not likely, he's the @#$%ing dragonborn.

Wait, your only motivation to use shouts is the idea that doing so could eventually cause your character to go mute?  Or am I misunderstanding?
