As opposed to a 20% in a specific field (standing stones).

Depends, do you want to level them at a good rate at the same time, or focus on one first?

The Long-Chapper
Yeah, destro and light armor are the slow levelers there. One-handed, as Deebs says, is a faster leveler than the other two skills. I’d grab the mage stone and then train with Grelka over at riften.
SpookyBorn2021I'd probably recommend Mage or Thief just because One-Handed naturally levels rather fast compared to some of the Mage skills or Light Armour (which only really levels if your getting hit, which kind of goes against most LA builds). Plus don't forget you can always get Well Rested with other stones giving you at least 10% for the others and upto 30% on the one you've chosen.
But yeah, just based on how difficult some skills are to level, I'd go Mage.
Gormec the Forsaken One Never realized how hard survival mode from CC really was till I was a week in. Skyrim is so big, and you have no fast travel. Gormec the Forsaken One Okay yeah, definitely get what you guys are saying. I think I'm just a prude when it comes to mods and glitches/exploits. Maybe eventually someone can persuade my perception on the whole thing.
Gormec the Forsaken One I really don't understand why people try to include the block perk tree in an unarmed build. Just for exploits? Glitches? Unless there is an actual benefit I don't know about, I feel like it's rather lame and unfair. I'm confused.

Being able to unleash bashes at will makes an unarmed character a lot more viable. Course you can also get some decent staggers out of Power and Shouts, but nothing quite as beneficial as just bashing with a shield.
Some mods add unarmed perks to the Block Tree, but that's probably not that important because just as many add them to Light Armour or One-Handed (some even add them to Illusion for some reason). so there's that to consider. less
SpookyBorn2021
But generally speaking, I'd rather just punch stuff with my fists, can see the benefits but they rarely fit my character when I go unarmed.

There is a glitch where if you're a vampire and have an Ebony Shield equipped it turns invisible. This means that it looks like you're unarmed even if you're not, which means you can add another dynamic to combat without breaking the theme of the build
Really like this. First one I read on this site. Basically why i even made a profile. Definitely going to push me in the right direction of role-playing, good work.
About Me
Love violence and pure savagery. Elder scrolls is by far one of my favorite game series. Out of all of them, Oblivion was my shit. I played that game day and night back in the day. If there is one game I know like the back of my hand, it is Oblivion. So definitely ask questions if you have any. Otherwise (despite the name) I am quite friendly. Always down for a good convo whether it be Skyrim, or anything.
How Did You Find TamrielVault?
Found it while reading a wonderful role play story of a nord.
