Karver and Doc PGB are right. You don't even need to replicate the exact effects on the weapon if you can come up with a good substitute (e.g. Absorb Health for Chrysamere).

Hmm I'm conflicted. I've been thinking of recreating Chrysamere, Goldbrand, Hopesfire+Trueflame (Which I did in my Nerevar Reborn build), Umbra, or the Lord's Mail (Which I've also done)

Sign me up; undecided as far as the artifact goes at this very moment, but I'll let you know shortly in a reply to this comment.

You know what sucks about the artifacts? They "should" (everyone loves unique looking items) look unique, but the only items looking unique in Skyrim are artifacts themselves... So Goldbrand & stuff could be Dawnbreaker, except for the fact that Dawnbreaker is Dawnbreaker, which doesn't allow you to play like it's Goldbrand, because it's Dawnbreaker, which means that you would have to go for Dawnbreaker instead, if you know what I mean.
So... Did you consider the dwarfen greatsword? It doesn't look like Dawnbreaker, but a bit like Goldbrand :).

I was thinking of using a katana, and giving it an enchantment that gives it a yellow ish color, or saying its powers have been supressed

I want the Ebony Mail, Harkon's Sword, and the Mace of Molag Bal. I'm going to fashion myself a true mother f'n villain.

You COULD go a step farther than using a normal Blade's Sword, and use the Akaviri Blade from the Moth Priest. Identical in appearance, I believe, but uh...it's a slightly more unique variant, given that there is only one of its naming natively in the game.

Um, I don't think you could get it on console. I believe I had it on PC though

You can get it, but you'd need to give him a better weapon and then steal it.
