Haha, try to say that ten times fast.

Ha, yeah. It helps if you have a drink first :D The quest allows you to mock it, too, so that's cool.

There's a book about High Elven dueling customs to go with it:

Interesting to note the word "Altmeric" - can't say I've come across that before, off hand.

So this is why Altmer only use one name...

I feel bad for the priest who had to recite all of this.

I feel bad for the Orc who wanted to challenge the Altmer to a duel...

Hehe, now I want to know how you generate the full family names.

I recognize some of the language actually.

Let me have a go at this

Rumilion mother (len, shortened from lenya) Inecil [Culanarin Salolinwe, my guess is that this double name is the mother's mother's and father's named combined), father (ata) Piryaden-Itelnoril, Line? (Hilnore) Firlamil 'Cal (my guess is that Cal means of) Ternberben-Nivulirel. .The last three names, Firlamil and Tenbernben-Nivulirel is the ancestral line. Or a prominent member of the clan. That's what 7am and only one cup of coffee will get you.

And no wonder priests were the highest echelon of society. Just saying and remembering all those damn names makes you almost godlike. LOL.

It was a good little quest! I  liked the references to a few things his aunt mentions, and think there's a bit of easter egg going on. Do you know what he refers to when he mentions that magic drink? That surely must be a lore nod to something.

Nice! I figured "len" was a mention of Rumilion's notorious and slightly inappropriate uncle. Good ol' Len - he's great at the family wedding for the first half of the night, but you just know it won't end well :D

I meant to mention the pictures below when we talked about Aprax and people's place in Altmer society. We've seen what the status quo is, seen what happens to those who become Apraxic mer, so these additions are what happens to Sapiarchs and Justiciars (and presumably military officers) who have disgraced themselves.

Haladan was a Sapiarch who, depending upon player choice, ends up being removed from every record posthumously. Everything he has ever written, all his breakthroughs and advancements in his discipline out of all 223 of them, gets erased as though he never existed.

The Justiciar the captain here refers to turned traitor when her sister was used as leverage. Regardless of her intentions, she too will be posthumously outcast and forever after remembered only as a disgrace and a turncoat.

Quick thing: I haven't played Summerset because I am poor, but I was leaping through the UESP and came across a tidbit. The character Alchemy, an actress, mentions something pretty cool. Of course, I should say: SPOILERS AHEAD! YE'VE BEEN WARNED! (And yes, I have spoiled myself. The price of learning random lore...)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, Alchemy outright confirms that transexuals are a thing in Tamriel. The character is evidently a woman, yet she confirms that she was previously a male. Interestingly, while she does say magic is involved sometimes (including her case), some people transition in more mundane ways. It's actually really well-written IMO (and if anyone feels they need to challenge that, go ahead, because discussion is good and I'll probably learn). Really, I applaud Zenimax for once again including LGBT characters in a fantasy setting. Here's the dialogue from UESP, with Alchemy's dialogue in italics and the PC responses in bold:

Was it difficult to start a new life?

"In a way. Cutting off ties to my sister was troubling, but so was hiding who I truly was.
I've always felt like I was meant to be someone else. Becoming Alchemy wasn't without its difficulties, of course. But I'm happier now than I've ever been."

Why do you think that is?

"I didn't feel comfortable with my past identity. Being a mage, being a man, it all felt wrong.
But everyone in the troupe understood that. They encouraged me to become who I truly wished to be. I'm not even the first member to change my gender."

How many in the House of Reveries changed their gender?"Oh, yes, and we've all transitioned in different ways.
Some, such as myself, changed through magical means. Others use mundane methods, such as wrapping their chests or changing their voice. It's all a matter of preference."

Damn dude, that is a big spoiler :D That's the hard part about this project - we haven't even touched the heavier lore here yet like stuff relating to Crystal-Like-Law. But Reveries is a great quest, agreed, and pretty well written. Actually, it's hard to fault the quest writing and character development all around. But I suppose it's been out long enough for us to dive into spoiler territory and get some of the deeper lore dredged up from the fathoms ,too. Does Alchemy change things for you? Do you feel that bit of story and lore has opened doors? Genuinely curious! :)

    Female Ardolan is canon! :D

But yeah, I think I also spoiled myself on the storyline of Summerset when I looked at the Dawnbreaker article in UESP. Thankfully I scrolled past it quickly.

Ardolan was a cool guy/gal. May he/she quest evermore into increasingly-awkward shenanigans with Elereth and Lilinastre... Damn it, I'm sad now.

A-hem! To be honest, since I've already run amok with the concept, it doesn't really make a difference that it's 'official' canon. That said, it is a legitimately nice thing to officially recognize.
