The problem with stagger is most of the time it doesn't stop you from reacting. Stagger from giants can be shaken off by jumping. I don't recall dragons staggering all that much except for when they crash land. And maybe I haven't been hit by too many power attacks lately but I thought the stagger only hindered your movement. You can still block, bash, cast spells, etc. while staggering, right?

I'd consider the best sets for recreation in game to be

    • Bonemold (Low Weight, Low Armour Rating, plus Morrowind)
    • Ancient Nord(Similar Reason to the above but also this has to be one of the least logically protective, well without getting into slightly more complicated Physics anyway)
    • Glass (A Bulky Light Armour with fairly decent Armour Rating)
    • Orcish (maybe a little to heavy and strong for me to count it as one of the better recreation sets)
    • Nordic Carved (Lighter and Weaker than Orcish)
    • Wolf Armour (Much Lighter than Steel with the same protection)

Exactly, I'm wanting to run a character who only uses Alteration as a spell school but haven't been able to make it viable quite yet, especially with my current disdain for running Smithing.

I don't believe you can still cast or make movements, I've been playing a near-pure mage recently (who uses Bound Sword and Alteration to stay alive close-up) and I've found that being staggered pretty much means I die. I don't think every Power Attack staggers you though, if they break a block it staggers you, hit by the first or second (?) word of Unrelenting Force, staggers you, but a basic Power Attack, well I haven't been able to confirm it but sometimes it will and sometimes it won't. I think it has something to do with your position / the actual damage you take but again no well educated reason.

Well I assume that enemy power attacks, like the player's, have a chance to stagger which is why it only happens on occasion. Idk, I've been playing a pure Mage lately so I haven't been up close and personal in battle. Regardless, we can all agree that Reflect Blows...blows.

Maybe Wolf Armour could be added to that list? It looks bulky on a male but on a female it looks quite trim, probably helped by lack of thigh protection.

Wolf is in the list as of now

Just added a list to keep track of all the suggestions.

Good idea there Caesar. I hadn't thought of that.
