After watching Rankin/Bass's The Year Without a Santa Claus, I got inspired to do a Thunder Miser build.

He'd have to be an Altmer, due to his tall, thin stature (and besides, Highborn would benefit this build.)

Here's his primary skills:

Destruction (thunder spells, obviously)

Restoration

Alteration (for the Mage Armor bonuses)

Speechcraft (he's a miser - he needs to get the best deals when buying and selling items.)

I believe a perfect house for him would be Myrwatch - it is out and away from more or less everyone, and doesn't have the "giant" probles of the Hearthfire plots.

I tried to come up with a song like the Snow and Heat Misers had, but only came up with

I'm Mister Bad Weather!  I'm mister no sun!

I'm mister Thunder!  I'm mister 1.21!

They call me Thunder Miser - I shock everything I touch!

I'm too much!

(Those of you who remember Back to the Future understand the 1.21 reference; for those of you whho haven't seen it, the only source of energy in 1955 capable of generating 1.21 gigawatts was a bolt of lightning.)

Hope somebody sees this.  Looking for a pure casting build, Destruction magic.  Fireballs, explosions and destruction!  I've gone through a bunch but they are more summoner or archer it seems.  Not sure but maybe an elemental build isn't that great?

I think this site is dead, but I recently installed a Wabbajack modpack for Skyrim so naturally I came back here to find a good build. For pure casting, check out the Hall of Fame builds, specifically in the mage section. Lots of good ones there. My personal favorite which I don't think is listed there is Liturgy of Affliction. Very simple build that uses equilibrium as the backbone and is all about using the staff of magnus and medium-level destruction spells.

Hey man! Cool to see a familiar face posting! I might check out the Celestial Warlock that I’m linking here. It's one of the major heavy-hitting non-conjuration  mages (I think it's skills are Destruction, Restoration, Alteration, Enchanting, and Alchemy) on the site, though it's light on roleplay. There *is* a gameplay exploit in it, but you ought to be just fine using bottled magicka rather than spell absorption if you wouod rather skip it. Hope life is going well!

[/blockquote]Hey Mercurias!  I was reading the Warlock (thanks for the post) and that referenced a build by mason so I was digging into his builds.  One I think I played before was The Seraphim with unlimited casting of destruction spells using an alchemy hack.  Still looking at that one as well as the Warlock build.
