    That's a good question.

The main point of the character is that they aren't a trained warrior nor mage. That being said, due to his/her line of work, he becomes quite well acquainted with metal/leather-working and enchanting. I feel that taking perks in the Armor trees reflects the fact that the individual in question has trained extensively using said armor. In this individual's case, you're simply betting on your expertise in smithing and the knowledge you've gained in enchanting from the various artifacts you find to protect you.

While I don't recommend a certain type of armor over the other, I do advise against placing perks in either tree to further the notion of a lack of being a trained warrior.

As far as offense, again, enchanting comes to play with both your bow, and pickaxe, as that's easily where the bulk of damage will be coming from melee-wise.

As mentioned by Brynjolf, you buy and scavenge your healing potions, or do the same with various scrolls.

And if something does get close, this is where your torch/pickaxe and disarming bash come in.

I'm put off by the inclusion of both smithing and enchanting as this seems to be a roleplaying build. For me a roleplaying build should be about having fun, and being easy to get into. If the character is an archaeologist, shouldn't they seek to find good equipment? Being able to craft armour takes away the motivation to explore.

It's Indiana Jones! How cool!  I think it's good, makes for some interesting RP and combat.

I thought about that as well, and I really don't know what to tell you really.

While I REALLY liked the idea of using equipment found during travels, I'm a sucker for modded in armors and clothing, and I had a few really cool outfit ideas in my mind when playing. I then realized I'd basically be stuck without enchantments for essentially the entirety of the game. To counteract it, in my current playthrough, I've been attempting to hold off on enchanting my gear until I found a unique artifact with the enchantment I wanted (if one exists). I then essentially dissect the object, and learn to replicate the enchantment onto my current gear.

Not to mention that the simple urge to put all of my finds on display is more than enough to keep me searching for more.

I like the build... but that... modded character... is so freaking ugly.

    No offence.. but ewwwwwwwww

You run away from them, like if you were playing Amnesia I guess. I wanted to make a build like this but I wonder how it would work.

I would take a crossbow and no one handed skills at all, nor block. You don't need block perks to use a torch. I'd actually go for Alchemy rather than Enchanting. Surely as an archaeologist you'd have some knowledge in Alchemy, at least I see it that way.

Really the focus of this build shouldn't  even be the skills themselves, it's a lot about Role-Play, gear and quest choices.

It would make a good DiD, no human kills character.

    +1 from me anyway.

I like this, it's a nice detailed build with solid RP! +1

I think what puts people off are your images. I have nothing against mods (using them myself), but most of the Skyrim players (about 70-80%) are console players and they immediately get biased towards the build after seeing the screenshots. Artwork would've changed the situation to the better.

This is cool, makes me want to role a Khajiit with a pick axe and torch and just loot old ruins

I dont really get the race selections possibly argonian but a khajit? I would chose Bosmer due to their resist poison and archery skill, just my opinion though... Or possibly imperial for their "voice", although extra loot thing is debatable.

I played my friend's 360 disc for like, two months before I just said "Ok, Legendary Edition is a great deal" and just got it on steam. =P While I didn't get it on sale, you get the full game and all the DLC for the price the game was when it originally came out. Better than paying about $25 extra the get it separate.

On the subject of the build, I like the idea. I personally enjoy stealth characters a lot, and the crossbow is my favorite ranged weapon. Great job, +1 from me.
