Your Nemesis?

  • August 20, 2015

Enemies in the older games all feel pretty similar to me, honestly. I guess if I had to choose one it would be those Dwemer ghosts. They're cool.

That´s those harpies like creatures right? Honestly, I never encountered them so often to wish them a pox

Dwemer Specters were really cool. But I really dislike Ghosts and similar creatures in both games. In Oblivion they were really annoying.

I think as well it has something to do with the leveling system. Iirc, level 20 in Oblivion was a high level character, who could take on Xivilai with relative ease. Yet at mid-level, Wisps and Clanfears were a real menace.

Yeah. There are low level Clanfears you meet at level 6 I think. Clanfear Runts. They are pretty managable. But because of the leveling system that makes game harder as you level higher, thos Clanfears at level 20 are much tougher.

Actually, I forgot about the Oblivion ghosts. You're right, they are annoying.

Nords, it's those scary big beards that almost make me want to flee in terror.

I guess you mean Morrowind Nords, right?

What the? Sorry, I didn't realize this was Classics. I was making my rounds through the picture gallery and forgot this was open. It just looked like another photo to me.

And I forgot Beards were a thing in Morrowind.....

I suppose to answer your topic question truthfully I'll have to say this. I think that those scary ass tree things from Shivering Isles always had me running to find a suitable place to hide or fight it. I think they are making a return in Fallout 4 as the Mirelurk Queen.

Another enemy that I thought was worthy was Umaril the Unfeathered. It's the first God I've ever slain in a videogame. Plus Oblivion was super exciting and anything new about made me wet behind the ears. Plus you need the holy artifacts of the Crusader to kill him, meaning you had to get on his level. So, y'know fighting him without those artifacts would surely mean death.

Hm, good point about Umaril. That one is actually a true nemesis to your character if you´ll decide to follow the Knigths of the Nine questline.

That brings another interesting question. Which Villain do you consider your personal nemesis?

Dagon? Mankar Camoran? Jyggalag? Umaril? Or maybe someone like Hyeronymus Lex?

I myself felt the encounter with Mankar Camoran to be most personal of all these enemies. While my Champion was slaying Dremoras and closing Oblivion Gates, he really led a vendetta against Mythic Dawn and Mankar Camoran, not Mehrunes Dagon.

    Thoughts, guys?
