This build is amazing! I do have a few problems with it, though. Firstly, console players have to get a thane of Solitude killed in order to get the Fine Armguards, as the Telvanni Wizard is not a master pickpocket. Secondly, the endgame gear doesn't have 100% spell absorption. Now, the second complaint could just be me wanting 100% spell absorption, but I just thought I'd point it out. Sorry if I missed something, though. Edit: I posted another comment earlier, but when I posted this one I had forgotten, so sorry about that.

Miraak's Robes have +15% absorption, and Miraak's Boots have +5% absorption when worn with his robes. In the "Equipment" section, Adrilk implies that these are to be worn predominantly, and the Telvanni Robes are mostly just for roleplaying purposes. He also says the following under the "Gameplay" section:

The legitimate way I recently discovered to [achieve 100% spell absorption] was by combining the Atronach Stone (50%), the Atronach Perk (30%), & Miraak’s Robes and Boots (20%) which brings the grand total to 100%.

Not sure if there's a workaround to killing Bryling -- maybe you could reverse-pickpocket better gauntlets/gloves on her and she'd de-equip the Fine Armguards? If so, then you could use the paralyze trick to pickpocket her without requiring any perks. I don't know whether she'd actually equip the new gauntlets though.

I read the part about how to get the 100% spell absorption, I just didn't realise that the robes were to be worn most of the time. Thanks for the tip about Bryling, I'll try it when my Telvanni Wizard learns paralyze. Until then, I'll just wear some other gauntlets.

I apologise for repeatedly commenting, I am not trying to spam, but I just had an idea. If you got the Ethereal Crown, then took the Atronach Stone for 100% spell absorption, and the Apprentice Stone, would the 200% damage from spells be turned to 100% by the 100% spell absorption? Or is that not how it works? The allure of 100% more magicka regen combined with the recharge special move is a very alluring prospect.

Have you seen Adrik's Celestial Warlock? That build uses that exact mechanic, and it links from this build. Click that banner at the bottom of the page to take you there.

I just read the Celestial Warlock and I would be willing to play it if it didn't involve more than one crafting skill. Sadly, I am not a big fan of crafting, so that put me off. I might see if I can make a build that uses the mechanic in a different way, though. That would be fun.

What are you talking about??? You can get the robes that Neloth wears by finishing the Telvanni quests for him. After you kill that lady just loot them.

I wish that his boots gave 5% absorbtion with having to wear the robes too.

Neloth has unique, more powerful Telvanni robes. The ones you get from Ildari are weaker.
