Holy shit balls I never thought of it that way. I actually have an Arkayian character in the works, might have to praise Zen a bit too

Well, I'm going to have to pull from the event. I want to playtest my build more. I could release her by the first, but I wouldn't be satisfied. I need to know she can beat Alduin and I need to test that myself. Good luck to everyone else in the event.

Damn, that sucks Liss. But understandable, wouldn't want you to submit it if you weren't comfortable with the product :) Thanks for the support through the Event though, and hope your feeling better soon.

Yeah, you know me, Deebs. This is a single skill build and you know how I get with this pure builds, I push them to their boundaries. If she can do what I envision her to do, that is some sick, sick, shit.

Right or wrong, I like Zenithar as being Tsun the Whale so the idea of the old Nords hunting the whale and using all of the beast, creating scrimshaw items from the ivory, seems as fitting as the traditional anvil and smithing themes associated with Zenithar.

I think you're spot on with Arkay, too. He is the Lord of Seasons and governs both aspects of time and the natural world in a subtle but deep way. So there's the Dibellan aspect of creation and imagination/art in any crafting, then a Kynaran aspect in that the materials are of her domain, then there's the Zenitharian factor in the methodology, and an Arkayn process in terms of a definite start, middle, and end. Mara can fit anywhere within that, as indeed all the gods can.

Damn, that was supposed to be late night ramblings, not shit that made sense :P But that does make a fair amount of sense when you explain it with your logic and all. Though you have pointed out (somewhat accidentally I have no doubt) that my knowledge of Atmoran/Nordic myths really is quite lacking because I can't really think of your Tsun connection there. Now that I think about it, maybe my knowledge there really is essentially linked purely to Shor and Alduin...very distressing.

Honestly, I don't think there is anything concrete linking Zenithar to Tsun. Indeed, the Design Doc says that Tsun is the Bear. I just like the idea of him being the Whale because he acts as a testing god when we meet him in Sovngarde. Metaphorically, he's the anvil upon which those seeking the Hall of Valour steel themselves. The anvil is Zenithar in the Nine Divines religion, so we have a thematic link between testing one's worth upon an anvil or at sea when hunting a whale.

However, even with the Design Doc hinting to where things could have been, in Shor, Son of Shor we see that Stuhn and Tsun switch places - they're the beserker twins, possibly part of the Three in Tri-nimac . So from that perspective, the whale and bear can switch places too, and there's something fitting about one guarding the whalebone bridge, which is like the body of the other. Or even that the Tsun we meet is guarding his own body, allowing only those worthy to travel across his own corpse. That throws up the water = underworld connection, with the bones of something significant bridging the mortal realm with that of the otherworld.

I play with that idea, as the Doc also says "Nord heroes and clever men visit the Underworld all the time. They bear a symbol to show that they have, which garners much respect." So whenever I return from Sovngarde, my character always gets inked.

Plus, it brings Stuhn-as-Stendarr into our crafting model. If Zenithar is there, so too must be Stendarr.

Can't respond in fulll at the moment, but my favourite line in that Design Doc had to be the following. Feels very Nordic :P things are likely to turn out badly, and it will probably be caused by some foreigner

#Nordscience :D It's cool too in that it expresses their cultural fatalism. They believe in that cycle, perfectly expressed in their tales of the World-Eater and the return of TLDB.

Ok, so Spellscribe is a big yes! :D Loving that perk, although only tested with Sun Fire in Shroud Heath Barrow. Do you know or could you guess if the Apocalypse spells such as Fingers of the Mountain or Fracture can be activated with an enchanted weapon?

Fracture is immense, does little damage by itself but when a different frost spell is cast upon someone effected by Fracture, the spell is triggered for greater damage and an insane stagger effect. I am wondering if a Spellscribed Fracture released via a power attack can set up a combo activated by a normal attack with a frost enchanted weapon.

Hard to tell. My first thought is that there's no logical reason for the Apocalypse Spells and Ordinator Perks not to work together, most of them do on a pretty basic level but this would be a bit different than... say changing how much damage a fire effect does. If it were me, I'd set it up so that Spellscribe works by checking if the spell fits the modifiers rather than targeting specific spells, that way it'd work with mods and probably be a bit easier. So yeah, I do think Spellscribe should work with Apocalypse Spells but not 100%.

Fracture Spellscribe...hmm, I don't think it'd work purely because Fracture is specifically mentioned to work with Frost Spells not Frost Damage. Enai's usually pretty good about making that distinction clear, so I think you're fresh out of luck unless you combined it with North Wind/a Frost Cloak.

Thanks Deebs, that helps :) I will probably test anyway when I have time just to be sure, and I think the two mods are patched to work together, but again will test.

Still, very enthusiastic about Spellscribe. The Spellstrike power turns any two-hander into like a custom Bloodskal Blade, and that is exciting! In terms of what can be done with thematics, it is huge in scope. Do you remember Battlehorn Castle's Dragonsword of Lainlyn and how it gave a fire spell? I liked to pretend that was Yokudan magic, that the power was reminiscent of what their sword singers could do.

For an Enchanter, the Spellscribe perk could recreate such martial and spiritual magic nicely :)
