Ahzidal's mask is perfect for the build. Fire resistance and improves fire damage. The main reason I used fortify alteration is for the ash spells in Dragonborn, especially ash rune since its very expensive to cast.

Where do you get those spells? I've never used them before.

Tel Mithryn. It's the place with the giant mushroom houses in the southeast corner of Solsteim. You meet a mage outside and after helping him he will sell them. They are amazing for controlling a battle as they paralyze for 30 seconds, and the rune can hit a group. Can't deal damage while their affected, but great for evening the odds against groups.

Ok, am finally a vampire in my playthrough. It's great for taking out tougher enemies because I just keep casting the drain life spell as a vampire lord and that does damage to them while restoring whatever health I've lost. The sneak bonus helps a lot too and the fire resistance isn't a problem. All in all, being a vampire in this build is actually pretty viable.

Even as a vamp, you still get a positive 50% fire resistance as a Dunmer with the Ahzidal mask, which is still very good. The other bonuses can definitely be worth it too. I'm glad you like the build :) It has been my favorite character to play so far. Keep me posted with any new revelations or updates you come across in your playthrough.

I spent nearly two hours searching for lore that you've based this build on only to be told that you created it. After being deeply saddened by this revelation for a few seconds a sense of joyous wonder came over me at three realisation that I've read something so original. Good lore, great build, and I'm having a blast playing this character.

I'm glad you're enjoying it. As much as I like TES lore, I also like to create my own.

I was thoroughly convinced that it was TES lore, so kudos

I noticed that the sword's name was Charon's Claw. I seem to have met yet another person who reads     R.A. Salvatore...and the build is badass, so +1.

Now all we need is a Drizzt build or something here...*wink*

I thought there was one? It probably died in the purge
