A simple concept but an incredibly fun character build to play - I very rarely use loot I get so it's great when you find the next piece of your armory.

I like this build, great concept. Except, you could enchant stuff in Oblivion and Morrowind.

In both of those games (Morrowind in particular), artifacts were almost always better than anything you could craft. In Skyrim artifacts are pretty rubbish and can easily be outclassed by crafted stuff.

I LOVE this idea. I always hated it when I'd be playing a particular character, and stumbling across a badass weapon or piece of armor that I "couldn't" use, because it didn't fit the theme or whatever. This lets you pick and choose what you truly like best, while giving you the freedom to switch at any time. And you have a combat style for any situation. I'm trying this build out now and I am loving it. Great job!

An Orc is perfect for this build

Does anyone know what difference a Light armour piece makes over a Heavy piece?

For example if I wore Light boots rather than Heavy boots, would there be any compensation for the lower armour rating?

Hopefully there is an advantage to a piece of Light armour so my character can be as diverse as possible.

Also here's my current Level 31: Leather Helmet of Major Archery; Studded Armour of Major Health; Orcish Gauntlets of Eminent Two-Handedness; Orcish Boots of Dwindling Frost; Ysgramor's Shield; Necklace of Mending; Ring of Regeneration; Glass Battleaxe of Reaping; Elven Sword of Harvesting; Glass Bow of Flames. Loving how unique my character already feels!

Light armor weighs less, which gives it a couple of advantages. Namely, it's better for sneak characters, and it doesn't cost as much stamina to run and perform power-attacks while wearing light armor. It also doesn't take up as much of your carry weight, but there's a perk in the Heavy Armor tree (Conditioning) that neutralizes these penalties once you are a Level 70 in Heavy Armor and have all the necessary prerequisite perks.

Near the end of most playthroughs, neither Heavy nor Light Armor really sports an advantage over the other. You can reach the Armor Cap with both, and can end up being a good sneak character with both. The only difference exists early in the game.
