Hi Roth, great build! I liked the story of the character and the way you brought up the Knights of the Nine. Btw, did you take inspiration from the "Alessian Priest" build in the trials section? That part is great ;)

    Thank you.

I have not seen that build so no I haven't taken any inspiration from it. My inspiration came because I wanted to play a conflicted crusader-type who uses more than a sword-and-board style. There wasn't anything "exactly" like I wanted which prompted me to work up and post this build.

I did take inspiration in presentation and the multi-part structure from other builds though. Noodles presentation for example, and the multi part structure of Tae-Rai's The Vigilant.

Good to know! I'll be sure to take a good look at it soon. Who doesn't like a good story anyway. Thanks for heads up and I hope you're having as much fun playing this build as I did reading all about it!

    Chapter 1 is up now.

Taste of Death is also a good quest to do, uh, if you fail it that is and you are also helping a priest of arkay. :) You can, also, by the way, fail the House of Horrors, which is what I did during my Paladin playthrough. Helped Tyranus, 'cause why wouldn't I, and then I stuck it to the Boethiah priest, cause his in game dialogue is pretty nasty.

Investing in businesses is also a nice way to help Zenithar.

Otherwise, I like this build. Good job, especially if this is your first. Also cool how you're tying it into your blog.

    Thanks Lissette.

The two quests you mentioned are indeed valid to start but not finish, at least if you intend to play with the roleplaying I had in mind.  I declined to make Taste of Death (helping a priest of Arkay) or House of Horrors (helping a Vigilant of Stendarr) as the Trials of the Divines for those two gods, in large part because there were better options I saw (preventing the rise of a powerful necromancer and killing the vampire lord who set in motion the fall of the Vigilants in Skyrim).

As for Zenithar I thought that building a house as a new priory, and making sure you actually build it yourself, not let your steward purchase all the upgrades, was the perfect way to represent Zenithar.

Writing my blog was actually a result of spending a lot of time putting together the character build.  The more I thought about all the roleplaying, the more I wanted to write about Gaspard Renelle and his adventures.

Does anyone have any constructive criticism I could use to make this build better?

I'm vain enough to want to see it at least get to Exemplar rank soon.

You've got a real solid build here, especially for your first venture. The only suggestion I have is maybe trimming any truly unnecessary bits so the build is a little shorter and less daunting to readers. If you want professional advice though (I'm far from it :P) you could try your luck asking in this thread.

Other than that, just stick around. I speak from (albeit limited) experience when I say these things take time. Looking forward to your future builds, anyway, and good luck

    Thank you.

Yeah I know it takes time, especially with Skyrim not as new as it used to be.  I know I should be patient, but I was hoping it would make it to Exemplar before the week was out.  Vain.

I do have a few future builds in mind too, but for the moment I'm concentrating on this one, between the build itself and the blog I'm writing about my character.  But I will eventually post more builds.

Spent a bit of time polishing the build a bit.  Tightened a few things up, added a few minor things and did some generalized presentation polishes.

About to finish up with Table of Contents links as well in-page, for those who just want specific info.
