This is a good one. When I read the title, I thought "hmm.. another paladin-type character. Still, its interesting, as there's no Aedra Crusader build yet." Never thought your character's a bloody orc!
Good question from the guy above me. Why go for alteration when you'd hit the armor cap eventually? And since you're enchanting anyway, wouldn't it be better if you just made a weapon with absorb health enchantment? The only time I was worried that that enchantment didn't quite catch up with the damage was when I was fighting 2 Draugr Dreadlords in Skuldafn on Master Difficulty. But then I was just experimenting on the sword; I was mainly an Arcane Archer. So, if you mastered the melee weapon perk, I think an absorb health enchant would do without any flesh spells.
Oh, and I've read (and tested/done it myself) that the quest for Angi's Camp is better served when you're at 90-ish (95 actually) in archery. Her training gives you 5 points, so you'd hit the cap in it.
I like bows better. There's something about the fluid movement from draw to release that really appeals to me. Crossbows are a bit rough. There's no art or beauty when executing its movements. And, as you've mentioned, they're small and compact, which makes them more suitable for assassins. Also, I've never heard of the Herma-Mora vs Malacath rivalry. But then, my lore knowledge is only limited to the books I've read in-game in Skyrim.
That photo of the orc very much reminds me of Broxigar Saurfang, in Warcraft lore. I hope someone makes a build inspired from him.
