Yeah I can always go back and update this, I'm still working the perks out to decide which ones I need exactly, but I left some wiggle room for more variety. I'll probably update it as I get further :)

Thanks! This is like my 50th build in Skyrim but the 1st one that I'm actually happy with so I decided to post it! :)  Too bad there's no red light armor though...

Red Mages don't use Alteration, and Enchanting is definitely more of a minor skills than a major one.  The point of a Red Mage is to make everything balanced, so that there are no major and minor skills. :)  Thanks for the suggestion though.

Ward Absorb is cool but Red Mage isn't a pure mage and I think it is beyond the class's skill level. But thanks for the suggestion!

Do it! If you look at Mason's builds for example, it uses plenty of pictures and he goes into the extra effort of placing perks into his lore as well as providing unique names to some of the powers that resonate with the Build's backstory.

I think all these things go a long to "SELL" his builds and make them so popular on this site!

In my view, your general guidelines reducing to "ADEPT" is really the heart and soul of a Red Mage build, in antithesis to the typically specific Builds on this site.

Having said that, I think being more specific will help yours to rise as others appreciate your lore and reasoning.

    Good luck.

Nothing wrong with those adept level spells!

If you look through the different spell schools most of the coolest stuff is at adept level, destructions cloaks and aoe spells are all adept, close wounds is a strong adept level restoration spell, ironflesh in alteration gives you 80ac, conjurations bound bow is also at adept level and i notice this build uses archery.

Mr Train has it right, the 'adept' thing should be this builds theme and you should place heavy emphasis on that in your description!

Not shabby, not shabby at all! +1

This build looks very fun and exciting to play! I'll probably play as one of these once I'm done working on some other characters.

One question though: since there is no red light armor, what would you recommend wearing?

It is a lot of fun! And actually quite interesting having balance everything and limit your skill progression.

As for armor, I am currently using Scaled Armor, but you can use any armor as long as it's not heavy armor.  But make sure to limit your Smithing to Elven or Scaled Armor. :)

Thanks! I'm gonna play around with it some more and I'll take your comments into consideration!

Thank you! I would use adept spells in alteration and conjuration but I'm basing this build off of the Red Mage in Final Fantasy which is basically Restoration and Destruction, but I threw in Illusion only for Calm and Fury.  But this build is a work in progress, and my first successful one I think, so I will update it as I go along!
