Sorry I haven't been on here in a while...but yes that is a very good level 50 build. I finished my game as my Red Mage build and loved it. I'm so glad that my build was so well-received! But Cerediron I think you hit the nail on the head when it comes to specific spells being used. Again - thanks to everyone for their support on this build! :D

I do not have the Dawnguard DLC but it's good to know there is some form of red armor in there. Thanks for the tip!

After having finished the game as my Red Mage build, I would have to agree. It is not an overpowered build but I wouldn't dare call it average. It is the most balanced, well-rounded, and solid build I have tried to date. No glaring weaknesses!

Hey Zandt, cool build. You were chosen for the "Build of the week" feature about a month ago. People have been very impressed with it. I think Mason played it and has done a lot of promotion of your build. Anyway, hope that you stay around for a bit and maybe try your hand at some more builds.

He wasn't here when it was made, how would he know about it? But yeah, Mason especially has really loved this build!

If you count and have played FFXI the red mage had enblizzard enthunder enareo as well as elemental spikes so the cloak spells could be mix of the two spells just saying and sorry if this makes me sound like a DB.

Just saying as for you Shield/Healed strategy, with the respite perk, this becomes one of the best stallers and way to slowly heal when the pressure is on and all of your little colored bars at the bottom of the screen are getting smaller.

The shield not only absorbs attacks, but if you stagger lock the opponent (for one opponent) You can burst healing spells as your magicka slowly recharges, (heck, the basic healing spell works good for this)

With a combination of the all important kiting skill with the bashing, this becomes a very reliable way to survive near death experiences, just watch out for enemy power attacks that might just break right on through and kill you.

Fighting against other mages on the otherhand, this skill doesnt work as well, especially if they use shock or ice (which almost everyone does) Both sap your valueable resources that you are trying to recover, leaving you magicless as well as stamina lacking, slowed and unable to bash/run away/fight back/heal

In summary, use against tough melee bosses when you are running low or possibly small groups of melee users :)

Telvanni robes in dragonborn extension, they also give 75% magicka regenereation. You can also kill or possibly find a solitude curiass... Maybe look in the barracks.
