WiP Character Build: The Rimerock Witch

Deebs, looking over your groundwork for this build I kind of think the Lady Stone from Andromeda would work well. It summons a ghost-hound for 60 seconds when you enter combat, and that bugger is pretty fierce and distracting. It would pair well with Illusions and help you conserve magicka at combat opening.

If you're running Imperious too, then the Breton racial power Stones of Galen will give an added 15% weapon damage against members of the opposite sex to player characters using the Lady Stone.

At the moment I'm restricted to PS4 so if/when I do get started on playing it'll have to be with Vanilla or minimal modding.Bit of a shame because your right there would be a lot of interesting ways to use Ordinator to make each build feel unique and different, but I think there's plenty I can do with Vanilla mechanics, but we'll have to see.

Whoops! Sorry about that! Well if you’re running vanilla and you’re playing a build with with Stealth, Archery, Poison, Conjuration, AND Illusion then I’d probably snag the Apprentice Stone. The Magicka Regen will probably be a good help, even with Alchemy, and the Magicka weakness will make it interesting.

So I've started playing The Rimerock Witch (because FROST) and I've been having a blast so far. I decided to go with a bit of a weird blend of Destruction, Block, Heavy Armour, Illusion, Conjuration and Restoration (maybe Enchanting) and it's been insanely cool to play so far. Playing with Smilodon especially has made some of the earlier fights a real tough obstacle (Especially back when I was relying on Corpses to make my army), so many enemies resist Frost that it makes her offense a bit less noticeable early on.

Anyway, everything's actually going really smoothly so far with the playthrough and the build. Got some art that just works, figured out how I'm going to present the build and I've even got some gameplay footage to share because apparently the PS4 records with a decent quality to it so I've got like... 2 hours, 30 minutes of video to post.

Right, I'm starting to really get underway with the less gameplay focused parts of the build and started creating the general framework for the Rimerock Wyrd. Essentially the idea was to create a system that allowed for the worship of four deities (Kyne, Nocturnal, Boethiah and Hircine) who act as something kind of similar to either the Tribunal or Reclamations with the Dunmer (essentially a guiding force in general, with individuals worshipping one over the other). Each group is a seperate Coven, but part of the same Wyrd.

Only halfway through that section and I don't want it to be massive because I want a fair amount of freedom if anyone decides to play the build at any point.

"where she's running around without enchanted armour for the most part" - Is that literal? I'm imagining a gameplay moment at level 25 when she realises she'd better put something on xD I like where you're going, especially the goddess with two-faces. That's cool.

Nah, apparently I've been playing Master Difficulty with Smilodon for the first 12 levels so it straight up isn't an option :P I get killed with Armour, while Blocking if the enemy is powerful enough (and using a Warhammer). But now I'm tempted :P

You'll be dissapointed to hear that's about as far as it's going, at least for now. I'm trying to figure out the sweet spot where the build has just enough Lore to be interesting, but not so much that it makes the build massively long. Might not end up working and I have massive chunks of Lore dedicated to the ideas I'm starting with, but we'll see :)

What kinda gear are we looking at, Deebs? There are some really interesting shields about! To me, your build looks like it would favor the Shield of Solitude or Targe of the Blooded. A big, shiny one like the Aetherial Shield seems a little outside the build's aesthetic.

Well yeah that's what I've been struggling to figure out. At the moment my plan is for everything to be self-enchanted (possibly Stalhrim, Ebony or just Steel Plate)  but I really haven't decided. I think the actual enchantments are going to end up being more important than the actual gear, but I'm going to avoid most artifacts or Quest-Locked Unique Items like the Targe of the Blooded.

I mean, at the moment because I have that four-coven structure I'm thinking that I could design an outfit for each of the four Covens. The Northern Coven would totally work well with Nordic Carved (my favourite set of Armour). The Ice Witches can pick up Stalhrim. I guess it'd only make sense then to create a Daedric and Ebony set because both would work perfectly fine, and the character can legitimately make Daedric Armour through the Atronach Forge in the late-game. Oh wait, Ancient Nord would work quite well too...Bah, the point is I've got no clue at the moment :P

Honestly I really wish I could grab Immersive Armours because there's more than a few sets there that could work. The Warchief, Spellbinder, Stormlord, Vanguard, or Witchplate sets would all be perfect for this character.

So I've made a lot of changes to the build over the last day or so. Mostly it's just the presentation with the inclusion of banners and new pictures, but I've made a few fundamental changes to the RP/Lore behind the build. Essentially I scrapped Hircine as a deity involved with the Wyrd, and made some more notes on each individual coven. My main focus for a bit is going to be on expanding the information on each of the three and turning them into three parts of the same faction, but still feel unique. Boethiah, Kyne (now Kiene, pronounced Key - Enne unless that's how you pronounce Kyne (which I pronounce Keen)) and of course Nocturnal act as those three deities, but I'm going to slowly make a few alterations to them. Boethiah is completely dropping the male form, Nocturnal is going to be a bit more nature oriented.
