My first RPG was Oblivion. And I disliked it so much that it kept me away from RPGs for almost three years. I just didn't like the art style (character design has to be the BIGGEST facepalm in gaming history), the combat was unappealing, boring soundtrack, bleh...
Skyrim was the one that got me into RPGs. I decided to give ES another chance, and I am glad I did. But this post isn't about Skyrim.
After Skyrim, I noticed that my brother had Morrowind, so I ended up playing it. A much bigger improvement over Oblivion in all regards except some mechanics. Morrowind has hands down the best lore out of the 3 newest ES games (not including ESO), the best soundtrack, best enemy design, etc. If you haven't played Morrowind, you are missing out big time.
I then decided to try out Oblivion again and I still hated it.
My opinion Morrowind=Skyrim>Oblivion
