what do you use for ranged encounters where you are unable to use a sword. Do you just wait for it (ex. wait for the dragon to land) or do you do something else? Amazing build and I'm about to play it soon. +1

Yeah, you can close gaps pretty quickly due to the light gear and relatively high Stamina. Clear Skies stuns enemies, and you can also use Dragonrend to force Dragons to land. I usually just led them to open areas, conjured my Shehai, and waited. With the Crystal of Focusing and Slow Time, you can take down a dragon very quickly after it lands.

Query: You say to never capture or manipulate a human soul in the roleplaying notes, yet you've taken the soul stealer perk in the spread.  So how, exactly, do you avoid taking a human soul with that perk in play?

Otherwise, very comprehensive build you've got here, mate.  Like most builds, I'm tempted to roll one up.  +1 from me.

Pretty sure if you dont carry black soul gems it doesn't work.

Good point, well made.  Bit of a brain fart there, I think.  I just automatically assumed getting the Black Star instead of Azura's Star, which is probably a key quest for a crystal obsessed character, I'd imagine.

I was wondering what would be the best way to get the vampire gauntlets?

How can I kill a mammoth without using ranged attacks?

I think they would be the best source of grand soul gems, or are there more?

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: Also, did the sword-singers use a shield, using a shield would be against the RP?

You can get the Vampire Gauntlets from a random encounter with a vampiric NPC (I think his name is "Traveler"). He wears vampire robes, armored vampire boots, and vampire gauntlets. You need to join the Dawnguard for him to appear.

Killing a mammoth will be fairly easy once you've got a bit of experience under your belt. With Elemental Fury + a fortify one-handed potion, you should be able to make short work of a mammoth. Use your light weight to your advantage; try to avoid facing him head-on. Also helps if you can find a mammoth that's relatively separated from the giants and other mammoths at the camp. I think Keepers are also grand souls. Not sure if you can abuse the "summon Keeper" spell to farm grand souls that way, but if not, you could probably just enter Apocrypha through any black books. Though tbh, petty souls are nearly as good as grand when it comes to leveling Enchanting, so you'll only need a handful of grand souls over the course of the playthrough, and you'll probably be able to come across them naturally on your walkabout.

Pick up Azura's Star, so that you can experiment on different creatures without "wasting" a strong soul gem.

As for shields — I didn't mention them in the build because it was already bloated, and stylistically they serve a similar function to sword-blocking, which I find to be a nicer aesthetic. But yes, the Sword-singers were known to use shields, and I actually had planned on using them in earlier drafts of this build. Plus, since we already pick up several Block perks, you won't even have to go out of your way to incorporate shields. I definitely used them a few times at lower levels, to compensate for the relatively low AR.

    Thanks for the answer, man.

I think I'll not use shields, since sword-blocking in my opinion is too, better aesthetically. And I'll train more my sword fighting, to be more of an art, like you described.

P.S: The build is totally AWESOME, thanks for sharing it. Also, sorry for all the questions I asked
