    As well as backstory.

I really don't think backstory comes into it, you spend most of your time in-game hitting people. If the combat is the same as another build you're still hitting people the same way.

Not backstory, but what the build is based on, what he/she wears (Armor/Clothes).

So my hard work in my CB backstories is a waste to you Ben?

I've read the '...crossing the border...' backstory too many times, if I see it in a build I refuse to continue reading, it's become an instant turn off for me.

I agree I usually make my own backstory for the characters I play. I'm mostly interested in gameplay

You walk into a bar.......and see an elephant in a fedora, drinking a glass of milk with a dog in a human suit. There are more. You wake up on a carriage......, Opening your eyes....

I'm here for the ideas and feedback. I'd like to post a build but honestly everything has been done to a certain extent, so I'll just put a little of this one and put a little of that one and I'll keep my build all to myself.

@ Dray  I bet Mason read it until then...

Backstories can potentially kill a build because the more character details you explain the more choices you remove from anyone wanting to play it...

You have to provide enough information to make the character interesting without removing options for a player.

The funniest backstories I've seen are for stealth classes...

"This character is an absolute shadow, nobody sees him coming until they feel the sharp tip of his penis in their back......

......he got caught crossing the border, and so his story begins"

Ah yes! I hate those ones as well Matt...

    "As a young child..."

"...training with a bow since he was a boy..."

    "...Thalmor shagged his mother...."

Oh fuck offffff!! I don't want to relate to my toon as an infant...

It's all fun and games until your thief gets caught sticking his things where they don't belong when crossing the border.
