Knights of Solamnia? What was the name of that legendary guy? Huma? Humn? Something like that. It´s been ages since I read those books. Always preffered Forgotten Realms just because of Baldur´s Gate.
It ain´t that easy with me. There are times when I play mage in every game, atleast for few recent years. But nowadays I tend to go more with Rogue characters. Not assassins, I have grown from that, but I am really attracted to thieves, scoundrels and rogues nowadays. There is something really appealing about character who relies more on wit and agility than brute strength or sheer power, who are not heroes, just simple guys that strives hard to earn their living.
I really rarely play warrior, especially the good and honorable ones. So yeah, while I really love the manic, eccentric, egocentric and megalomaniac Telvanni because of these traits (I love crazy people), but I tend to play more...wha´t s the right word?...normal, simple, common characters these days. I´m done with being a hero, badass and such things. So yeah, I´m leaning towards Hlaalu in this moment.

You can notice my shift towards these types of character by looking at my Greenskin and Hermit. Common char and crazy char. Or actually all of my character builds are trying to present more "humane" nature of this characters. Most of them are just surviving and trying to find their way in the world.
I guess this all started by Dragon Age 2. Hawke...was more or less jsut a guy who cared for his family and was trying to do his best to protect them, but circumstances wished otherwise. That´s what I like, that´s what makes characters realistic.

Though most of my characters end up joining the Hlaalu, Telvanni has to be favorite. Their quests, xenophobic nature, and most definitely their architecture all make them stand out to me.
If we were to include ALL Great Houses, I'd probably go with House Dres though. I guess the main reason I like them so much is because of how little we know about them. It leaves a lot for us interpreted ourselves.

House Dres? Hm, that´s a House I could never like. I know that slavery is part of Dunmer´s culture, but still...I´m biased. I just can´t accept slavery, so House Dres is definitely somewhere at the bottom of my list.

I like the House Redoran in the Dragonborn DLC, they are the honorable choice. that and the guards are like knights. Bonemold may be made of other humanoid races but to me it's more like from animals.

Yeah, most people probably wouldn't like the slavery thing, regardless on if it's a part of Dunmer culture.
But like I said, the main reason I like them is due to how little we know about them, which also leaves a lot of potential for them in future games.

This discussion deserves a like for the picture at the very least))
For some reason my sympathies are divided between Redoran and Telvanni. Redoran honor and and devotion to traditions, Telvanni magic and famous weirdness (this Justiciar is strangely a fan of honor and weirdness). House Hlaalu somehow doesn't seem that appealing to me, although I have roleplayed a character of that House too.
