I used to think that reading the ingame books was dumb and anyone who did it was dumb, you dummies. But then I gave it a go (it's amazing how easy it is to judge something I don't have even the remotest idea about), and now I'm addicted to that very good Tamrielic lore juice.
My faves are, in no discernible order: Chance's Folly, Argonian Account, The Real Barenziah ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), A Game At Dinner, A Hypothetical Treachery and the Beggar trilogy, among others (boi does this game have books).
