As much as I don't care for vampire builds, I do liked how this one was presented and told. I'm new to Necromancery as I will attempting a future playthrough using it. This along with other builds, will really come in handy on knowing how to carry that out. Thanks for that. Harkons Sword has always appealed to me, but personally, it lacked something that could really make it shine. Since, I changed it and downloaded a retexture of it, Its one of my favorite weapons for my High Elven Samurai! I knew someone was going to make an artifact build based on it and you pulled it off perfectly. I couldn't be any more happier seeing it presented like this! ( Now I wonder who will present my other four favorite artifacts? )

Even with alteration taken and a good health pool, I hope this character on higher levels can take a hit pretty good.  I would take Bladesman and Savage Strike to get that extra spice using that awsome blade!

    Another fine performance!

Thanks Ry. The low armor rating isn't really a factor. When in trouble a calm spell goes a long way. I could see taking savage strike for some extra flair. Bladesman would be a waste due tu augmenting the absorbtion of the sword via alchemy. I am curious what are your other 4 fav artifacts.

How on earth isn't this out of the Bloodworks yet? A great build with an interesting look on a stereotypical Vampire and it's still on 9 likes? What on earth is happening people

What I think throws people off is the fact that the screenshot shows a Man, rather than a Mer. I kinda really like the idea for this build. Stealing and absorbing enemies attributes is a cool, little-used building mechanic but I feel that you could've jacked it up a little more. Look into the glitches version of Drain Vitality. What kind of Illusion spells did you use? Was there a sort of method to them or did you favour one over the others? And about the alchemy, were you able to find reliable sources of Beehive Husk and Glowing Mushrooms? All in all, I love the basic set up. The look is awesome and no one uses Harkon's Sword, so it's nice to see it getting some loving. The idea of manipulating enemies into death is also great and I like the little backstory and roleplay ticks. It all ties it nicely together. +1

Thanks for dropping in Ely, always a pleasure. So I'm a lowly console peasant bahaha and I had a buddy take that shot for me, I'm kinda waiting on a retake, but I at least wanted to show the everyone what the gear looked like on the character. So hopefully I'll get that retake soon.

Drain Vitality fits perfectly with this build, I honestly can't believe I didn't think of that. Gonna work that in.

I fleshed out the use of illusion a bit as well. Also changed the recipe for shadow water for something that is more readily available and can be home grown.

Thanks again for stopping in and leaving me some feedback.

Illusion spells like calm and frenzy are great until you get up a certain level but with a good potion that can surpass the cap of how high a level Illusion can effect.

My other four favorites from the top of TESV Series is - Chillrend, Dragonsbane, Mehrunes' Razor and lastly, Auriels Bow. Those are most favorite, I have a other ones too, but those are my best. None of my playthroughs are complete without them.

Don't forget about the 20% boost from vampisim...

On a side note I think I can make one build based on those 4 artifacts.

Oh lord is this long, my apologies.

So I did have a look at this a while back. I think I can count on my hand the number of times I've played a vampire, so sorry about that, not a huge fan of vampire playthroughs. I've also played builds with advanced atronach but no longer do so. So what can I say about this build?

    • One of the most immersion breaking things can be grinding a crafting skill. I highly recommend that for enchanting, save and fill as many soul gems as you can during the Dark Brotherhood. Then hitting up Halted Steam Camp for transmutate. Swing through every major iron silver and gold mine. Once you have everything turned to gold, make them into rings. Travel to Solstheim to train with Neloth after completing the DB questline. The payoff for killing the emperor plus being able to sell the rings to Neloth after enchanting them keeps you going. Make sure to only enchant enough rings at one time to increase your over all level, then train again.

I think the above clinched it, and I'm sorry to say that. I just don't see a vampire, let alone an Altmer one going through all of that from a roleplaying standpoint. It's a roleplaying issue. And it's not the transmuting, that part's fine or the enchanting either, though an Altmer visiting a Telvanni wizard is odd to me, but it's the actual physical mining. That's the stuff Altmer typically get goblins to do. Do follower's mine? If they did, that may be an option, have your follower do it. But, unfortunately from what I researched briefly on the subject, the indication is that they do not. They may have mining animations, but not actually obtain ore. Maybe instead buy the ore?  I know it's silly, but I'm a roleplayer, so little things like that irk me sometimes.

The perkspread is a teeny bit hard to read and not inline with the color scheme of the rest of the presentation. I don't personally mind perking 8 skills if it gets you where you need to be from a gameplay perspective.

An idea on equipment. Why not wear Vokun? Gives boosts to Illusion, Conjuration, and Alteration? You could then opt for a dropped Vampire armor or the Vampire lord armor. That only leaves the gauntlets, but I don't see the point of a double enchantment. Go get a dremora butler or a follower and that problem is solved, leaving you to only enchant the gauntlets with fortify one-handed, or pick a nice dropped fortify one-handed. Or... You are mixing cloth and armor anyway, so you are not benefited by using the mage-armor perks in alteration, so why not head over to the atronach forge and make yourself some daedric gauntlets of wielding? Then you can nix Enchanting all together cause you then only need alchemy for the Atronach stone.  They usually yield peerless or extreme in quality. You are already going there to make your dremora minions.

That being said, it's unfair for me not to like this build, because you did put a great deal of thought behind it and it's well-presented. A +1 from me then, and forgive my criticism. I saw you post in the Bloodworks thread and really enjoyed your last build, so I thought I offer my two cents.

Shit, sorry I never could replace that image Manik, I don't think I dropped by and let you know I couldn't fit it in (I dropped out of helping with Screenshots...) but if I did let you know, it's a free bump isn't it, never a bad thing

    Thanks good advice on all.
