That's fair enough. Let's can him for the time being and I may resurrect him at a later date. Cheers.

You sure? This build does have a lot of potential if you're willing to work at it.

Maybe a team effort with some more experienced builders? Can we have a build with multiple authors?

I think there is the kernel of a good vanilla build in here. The aesthetic of the aetherial crown with dwarven armour is awesome, somewhat reminiscent of the helmetless power armour look from warhammer 40k. The name 'technomancer' has me thinking about a mage build with magic powered from a non traditional source. You list both the apprentice and atronach stones, the classic aetherial crown combination, how about using fortify restoration potions to boost both these? Shop bought potions would remove the need for alchemy. I'm wondering if a Mage could be created that doesn't add any points to magicka but relied on the altmer starting boost and the atronach/apprentice stones to get by. Perhaps enchanting would suit the feel of technomancy allowing additional fortify magicka and magicka regen. With no level ups in magicka you could have a bunch of health and stamina to play with, perhaps you could use the glitch where you can use the steam breath power without that helmet (names escape me), so you had something to spend stamina on. Enchanting would allow the creation of powerful enchanted dwarven weaponry as a back up to the magic in the style of the Sorcerer. I would consider going heavily into destruction and restoration with fire magic (good thematic fit with dwarven armour) boosted by necromage for all the taper mechanics goodness. Conjuration is kind of ruled out by the atronach given that this guy doesn't seem the necromancer type. Illusion could be overkill but would allow the aspect of terror synergy with fire magic... Just a few thoughts :)

this does sound good guys, thanks for the advice. I still like the idea of the use of Dwemer tech, so perhaps acquiring the staff that summons dwarven spiders should be a weapon as well. Also shock rather than fire to go along with the techno theme? I will try a rebuild of the character from the ground up and stick to vanilla only features. Cheers!

I also like the advice on using the native magika bonuses from being Altmer plus the bonus from apprentice. The weakness to magika from this could be negated by spellbreaker. I think this would still look good on a vanilla build.

Agree, I have done quite a few Altmer builds with just native magicka and Atronach or apprentice

This build can easily be done with Vanilla and be quite fun.

There was no mention of the kawaii Dwemer machine companions! I am disappoint!!

I'm giving it another go now. The first build was incredibly weak in melee combat and couldn't take a hit with magika either. This time around I'm putting all my points into health and now he has acquired dwarven armor and some perks in destruction he is holding his own a lot better. He still requires a warrior follower tank to engage enemies directly, but now I can pop them with a lightning bolt from a distance. @Naeg, I will have to try that mod but at the moment I'm am trying to keep the build as vanilla as I can so I can fix the current one
