The Sword of Truth Series is written by Terry Goodkind and is an excellent read.

There is a lot less known about Alric, which gave me a bit more creative liberty.

I didn't want to add to much. I actually cut out a lot of what I had. The reason why though is for an event espeacially this one with so many possible entries, I wanted to present something that was short enough for someone to read it all, yet had enough detail to get the point across.

Thank you for your feedback. Next build I make will be a bit longer.

Hey! Great work on your inaugural build. I'm certainly going to have to look into your source material... I've seen Terry Goodkind out there, but never picked any of it up ;D

The Wizard's First Rule is the first book in The Sword of Truth, BTW

Someone will believe a lie either because they want to, our because they are afraid it's true.

    @ ShinJin Thank you aswell.

Solid debut here. As Ben said, it feels pretty short, and there are a few inconsistencies. In addition to the Enchanting thing Ben mentioned, I was thrown off by this paragraph:

As many of our special moves come from chaining shouts together we do need unlimited shouts. To do this use the Fortify Restoration glitch to make a potion of Fortify Restoration with a magnitude of 100%.

First off, you didn't actual report using any combinations of Shouts -- not in the special moves section, nor in the gameplay section. I'm confused about whether you actually used this mechanic, and if so, how it fits into the build.

Furthermore, simply drinking a 100% Restoration potion before equipping the Amulet of Talos would only net you 40% Fortify Shouts, not 100%. You need +150% on the potion to get your amulet to 50% Fortify Shouts, and even then, you need to throw in the Blessing of Talos as well for the remaining 50%. I'm not sure whether your build is capable of making a +150% potion with its current perks.... Maybe if you use Seeker of Shadows when you craft the potion; I think you'd still be a tiny bit short of 150% though, even then.

I kind of get the impression that the unlimited shouting aspect was something you were going to experiment with, but ended up dropping, and forgot to cut from the writeup. Apologies if this isn't the case, but right now, it's not integrated effectively into the writeup.

Other than that, there's definitely some good here, and some potential for more. Presentation is solid, especially for a debut. Gameplay seems interesting enough, good balance with the moves and the potions. I'd just try to expand a bit on the gameplay and roleplay, look out for a couple of minor typos, and address the things Ben and I mentioned. With a bit of polish, you could take this a few steps beyond its current state and have a very nice debut build on your hands.

Yeah going back over it after posting there are a few things that got unintentionally cut out. But for the fortify shouts, the Resto potion needs to be 500% which can very easily be acheived. With four pieces of gear enchanted with fortify Alchemy with max enchanting. 5/5 and insightful. That gives you 100% fortify Alchemy. Fortify is a resotration effect. Thus anything enchanted with Frotify(insert skill here) can be temporarily boosted by the potion. So Craft potion, drink potion, re equip your enchanted gear, rinse and repeat until you obtain a 500% magnitude.

Looking back like I said in an earlier comment I did cut alot out of the write up because I thought it would be to long as it was, perhaps I should have left it that way explaining these thing clearer. My next build though.

There's nothing wrong with revising this build, you know! I still make a lot of changes to all my builds; I've made significant changes to at least three of my builds in the past month, and they're all a couple of years old now.

Also, just for the record, you only need 400% Fortify Restoration, not 500%. I've seen other people make this same mistake, but here's the math:

    20% × (1 + 400%) = 100%

If that's a mechanic you used, and/or that you recommend others to use, you should absolutely make that clear in the writeup. If not, you should cut out the reference in that paragraph I quoted previously, so as not to confuse your readers.

Don't worry about making it too long -- you're definitely okay on length right now; I think you could add another 500 words or so before you even begin to approach "too long". We're generally quite accepting of long writeups around here, especially if they tell a good story and explain the mechanics effectively.
