It certainly fits the look (along with Ancient Helmet of the Unburned, at that). The only reason I never went for either of those was that I got a Steel Helmet of Magicka as the random reward for Bleak Falls Barrow (which is what I'm wearing in most of the above pictures). It remained extremely useful up until around level 25.

The dragon priest masks look a lot better than the Daedric helm with Ahzidal's, so, if you're going for elemental resistance, the three from DB (excluding Miraak) are all heavy and give 50% resistance to the various elements, with a higher AR than both Unburned and Yngol. Although if you're not into situational switching, Otar is the way to go. I picked up Ahzidal when I picked up the rest of his set (you're already there, so there's no reason not to).

Thanks, Ben, I appreciate the compliment. I'll take your advice and remove the RP comment.

Nice Build, heavy RP, but for some reason, there's this line that keeps playing at the back of my head when I read the backstory:

    "Because I'm BATMAN!!!"

He's the necromancer Skyrim needs, not the necromancer they deserve.

I gotta say this is a pretty epic build. I really tempted to try this one out, which means a lot because I rarely ever play other peoples builds.

Damnit! I just finished posting a build that uses Conjuration and the Ebony Blade (link) thinking it was all unique and stuff, and then I found this. Hahah, neat build though man.

I played around a lot with the ebony blade when I was doing my 'Marked for Death' testing and it was an absolute blast to use as a primary weapon. The obvious weakness to the blade is that it can't be tempered so this is a build that embraces that and just ditches the skill entirely, which I love. Combining this with using the Atronach forge for armour is an awesome break from the standard.

Using MFD makes the ebony blade absolutely viable on Master (it can even get by on Legendary with some help) so hopefully anyone that has shied away from using it before will give it a try sometime...and this is a fine build to try it with.

It was my intention from the start to make this a no crafting build, and I'm so glad I did. I usually default to Smithing build, but I decided in this case that a no-craft build based around uniques would be an interesting challenge. But yes, MFD really makes the Ebony Blade shine.

I's too bad it has the stats of a 1H sword which makes it's bash damage limited, would make for a tremendous bashing tool otherwise. I'll never understand why they changed it to a 2h sword, it was always intended to be 1h which would have made for an absolutely brilliant spellsword/assassin type weapon.
