You did add some new things but I think you need to have a couple more pictures, and to fit the LOTR aspect you need to replace the restoration portion with something else, like block or smithing. Also for your race portion, drop the any race part and leave the human race bit, then suggest one you think will work best, I think the Redguard would fit the skills allocation best. Also to note on the LOTR part, Aaragorn used a two handed sword and even a torch a few times, just an option for you if you want to add it.

I used restoration because skyrim doesn't have a "physical healing" skill, which is something rangers are skilled at. And I said LOTR rangers because I wanted it to be clear that this isn't like a D&D ranger which is basically "a dual wielding paladin that happens to carry a bow". Besides, the restoration makes it unique.

Thats true I guess but Alchemy can be used to create healing potions and I think that serves the same purpose as Restoration. Also I only suggested the two handed skill and use of the torch, you don't have to use it if you don't want to. The Restoration skill is unneeded and if anything it makes the build seem more like the paladin/ranger of D&D. That is why I offered a replacement for that skill.

Aragon did use a torch, but that was pretty situational. I did include alchemy, but smithing seemed pointless considering the whole "simple weapons" concept. Although enchanting might be a good idea.

I see what you mean with the smithing suggestion now and the torch was pretty situational. I just feel as if you don't need magic skills AT ALL in the build. The stat spread won't need the magic boost then and it will leave a place for another skill. I thought about it and I think maybe lockpick would be useful when the ranger is scouting the wilds and comes across a difficult chest to open. Plus the skill wouldn't be contradictory to the build and it fits with the surviving off of the wild theme. Once more its up to you. I'm merely making suggestions on how to improve the build.

Idk, I've been researching the whole "ranger archetype" trying to find a skill that would fit and the only other thing that might fit is illusion (for charming animals) but that brings us back to the whole magic thing. I just never considered lockpicking because I find it to often be a waste of perk points is all.

Well I can only suggest so much the rest is up to you!

I'd certainly drop restoration and just use alchemy, not only feels more 'natural' but also frees up 50 attribute points that it seems might be welcome in health (not to mention any perk points saved). It's unique but ultimately serves no real purpose.

    Anyhoo,

I've been playing a very similar build for about a month now (I call him a scout but these are just semantics). It is hands down the most enjoyment I've had in probably a year although the big difference is I'm using mods to make the gameplay more immersive. If anyone is interested in this playstyle (and you're on PC) I strongly urge you to check out some of the brilliant survivalist mods (Frostfall, realistic needs, trade and barter, etc). This writeup isn't eye poppingly amazing but I chalk that up mostly to the limitations of vanilla Skyrim. If you're interested in a character that just explores give this a try; I firmly believe Skyrim is at it's best when the landscape is allowed to be it's own active character.

A very rare +1 from me because while this isn't the best writeup ever done, I know what you were going for with this build and from experience I know it is extremely engaging and rewarding.

When Frodo was stabbed, Arargorn said "This is beyond my skill, he needs elf medicine". So thus I do not think Aragorn used magic per say.
