Ways to Role Play Bards: Basics

One of my favorite classes to play is a bard. I love that I mainly use a skill others wouldn't bother using unless they want to make money (speech). The problem is, not everyone knows how to role play a bard. Here are a couple ways (I'd love to hear some of your ways. I would have more posted but 1. typing on xbox takes forever 2. I wouldn't have enough room to post it all... so I'm keeping it basic now, I'll go more in depth later):

    The Performer

This is the common method. You are a musician and you either sing (shout) or play an instrument (which can be mimicked using the bardic knowledge power or using illusion magic to rally your teammates in fights). Now you may be thinking "Why would a performer go out adventuring?". The answer: Why wouldn't they?! They get first hand experience of epic adventures that can be used as songs or tales, they can make a lot of money from searching chests in dungeons, and they have the thrill of adventure! Now how this bard reacts to things is up to you: Is your bard kind, is he (or she) greedy, sarcastic, helpful, cowardly? You choose. And one of the most important things for this type is... Always dress your best. Don't you dare wear things like Forsworn or chitin armor, you'd rather die than be seen in those clothes!

    The Temptress
Now, this bard is not the typical type of bard. She has found another way of making money: seduction (calm spells). She wears incredibly revealing clothes to get noticed, this allows her to get better prices with men (the perk allure). Now she can have multiple things she seduces people for: money, protection, or on someone to feed on if she was a vampire. She would fit well with the thieves guild thanks to her... Talents.

    The War-Drummer
Many would think of a Orc or even Nord bard as nothing but a joke. "Why would they be bards when they're societies are focused on war?" It's simple, they use their musical talents to help win battles and wars. What's more terrifying than an orc (or nord) wielding a warhammer, chanting a song of war and death before he crushes some enemy soldier's skull? Their main job is to not only keep the troops inspired (bardic knowledge), but to make the enemy retreat in fear (shouts and illusion spells). You wear the armor of your army or group and charge into combat with the rest of your men. You don't see the point in being "suave" when putting fear into others hearts is a lot easier. A War Drummer would certainly try to end the civil war (whichever faction they prefer), and would generally accept bounty missions... Not that care for anyone's safety, they simply prefer combat over resting.

Awesome idea bryn. Might try a performer class, never thought of using Bardic Knowledge. This would go hand in hand with Constantine's party leader, rallying your followers and writing tales of their glory and quests!

Adding a few images to illustrate each playstyle might make it even cooler  Though I assume you can't do it from Xbox?

I'd ask AFG, but I know she is busy with something for the site. Not sure if I should say what it is though...
