ToC: Of Godly Things and Mortal Beings

This will be the place you can access all of my poetry. Here I'll have it nicely arranged and formatted, as well as categorized. Should I ever get around to posting a few of my short story ideas, you'll also be able to find those here.

    Poetry

    Religious Poems:

    Agnostic Souls:

The ruminations of a priest on what becomes of those who choose no god to worship. I believe this is one of my best pieces, both rhythmically and with its rhymes.

    A Liferaft:

A metaphorical piece about the saving grace of the goddess Mara, this is my most recent poem. A break from my usual, this often has unrhyming lines.

    Song of the Stormcloak Faithful:

Something interesting, and a bit experimental for me, this is a poem in the form of a prayer to Talos, and has many screenshots intertwined.

    General Poems:

Cicero's Sonnet for the Soon to be Slaughtered:

As the name may suggest, this is a sonnet. This was just me trying to actually follow a scheme, and it kind of worked.

    The Trader and the Traitor:

A conversation between a snivelling trader and ex-soldier, this piece was a slightly light-hearted twist-ending poem. A fun read.

The Guard and the Trader and Mage:

A shifting, unfocused piece, it is ultimately about the beauty-in-simplicity of nature. Not my favorite work, but I'm still proud of it.

    Battle Poems:

    All Green and All Joy:

A poem about a soldier's valiant final stand, this was something new for me, as I had never used the ABCABC rhyme scheme before. I found that it *kinda* works.

    Rude and Sordid Ploys:

The description of an assault on a Stormcloak city by a corrupt, overly-ambitious general, this is a brutal piece that highlights the consequences of absolute power.

    Collaborative Poems:

    Tools of the Trade:

A collaborative work between myself and Lyall, this was something new and interesting for me. I think it turned out very well in the end, and I'm looking forward to what we could potentially churn out in the future. This poem is an abstract worship piece to Zenithar, the god of work and smiths, and so focuses on the products of a smith's work.

    Adventuring Poems:

    In Bloodstains Embossed:

The tale of two giddy adventurers who meet a grisly fate, this is a shorter piece of mine. Much like some of my other more recent works, I tried to paint a picture in as few words as possible, and I think it worked.

    Ristaag:

The tale of a hunt that goes wrong when the greatest enemy to the Skaal, the Greedy Man, shows up, this is a short but sweet work. A little listy, but that's what I was going for.

    Short Stories

The Political Game of the 4th Era Telvanni Isles:

My first short story on this site in a long time, this is my headcanon account of the happenings of the Telvanni Isles from 4E 1-4E 199. Written in an overly-fancy sort of speech, this is a pretty cool read in my opinion.

"Man, I love me some wacky politics and this is quite bloody wacky..." - The Rancid, giving a glowing review.

    The First Lesson in Necromancy:

A humorous short story about the woes of a teacher of the dark arts. Short, sweet, and should give you a few chuckles.

"And I thought Aela's training methods were harsh...." - Sotek

    Reviews

    "#DefinitelyCoolerThanMe" - The Rancid

    "Cleverly done Probably..." - Sotek

"Oh man, praise Mara this is good. You are a minister of truth, sir." - Phil

"Nice use of the "abc" format. Didn't knew you can do that." - Axius Revan

"Very cool poem. " - Lissette

"A poetry collaboration... now that is something to be praised. Long may it continue." - Phil (again)

Good to see all these poems in one place now. Great work. I need to revamp my TOC. A project for the summer. *sighs* it never finishes.

Don't worry Rancid, you can only be smelled from a few feet away.
