MO, if I were to play this archetype, I would take smithing into improving my gear and lightly perk archery for having access for long range attacks
Honestly, I would've agreed if we didn't completely max out Heavy Armour (and combined Enchanting with weapons). At higher levels and with the added support of most skills you've still got a pretty massive AR, and the damage with the Orcish War-Axe is pretty sweet, especially with Chaos + Absorb Health on mine (Chaos was low damage though btw).
As for Archery, well we've got Shouts which work well for medium range, and I suppose things like Slow Time, Become Ethereal and Dragon Aspect as defensive shouts that can help us survive against Archers just fine.
It definitely is fun, I played on Master myself (for most of it, started on Expert, Master by level 10) and it was incredibly enjoyable.
Thanks for the comment and like Ry, it's really appreciated.![](http://www.bkserv.net/images/Smile.gif)
