Hello everybody. I'm going to keep this brief. If it wasn't already obvious, I'm the new kid on the block. This is my first build, and I'm looking forward to constructive criticism from you guys in the comments. With that said, the build.

The Backstory: I would like to allow a lot of freedom with this build, so I tried to keep as vague as possible. Here goes. You are the Pure Healer. For years, you've traveled across the land, amassing a fortune, providing your Restoration based services to people willing enough, and able, to pay. That all changed when a wealthy client bought your services for the sole purpose of making it over the Skyrim-Cyrodiil border in one piece. You were ambushed, he didn't make it. You wake up in a carriage.

Race: The race is entirely up to you. Out of them all though, there are a few that really stand out. The Altmer, Breton, Imperial, and Argonian. The Altmer fits, as they get a boost in every magical skill, even more so in Illusion, and added Magicka, which is needed for this build. The Breton and Argonian have small boosts in Restoration and Alteration, the Breton a big boost in Conjuration. The Imperial receives a ten point boost in Restoration from the start, and their ability is great for calming things down when they get to intense. I went with the Breton, as the magical defense is such a useful thing to have, especially since you want to spend less time healing yourself, and more time healing your followers.

Stats: 3 Magicka/1 Health. Build up your Magicka until casting your most important spells barely deplete it, or until you have high Magicka regeneration. You want health for the same reason I sided with the Breton, you can't spend all your time healing yourself. You have to heal your followers. Stamina isn't important in this case, as you won't be doing too much maneuvering, and your followers can always carry any extra loot.

Skills: As for skills, I can't stress magic enough. You're going to want to have every magical skill except Destruction, in order of importance, Restoration, Illusion, Conjuration, and lastly Alteration. Restoration is needed for healing your followers, yourself, damaging/turning undead, etc. Illusion comes in all sorts of handy when calming down enemies, killing them from the inside out, and most importantly, buffing up your followers before a big battle. Conjuration is used mainly for summons, adding on to your list of followers (I'll explain later).  You may also banish the summons of hostile mages. Alteration is always a good thing to have, buffing yourself or paralyzing others. Outside of magic, you may go with any skill, as long as it isn't combat oriented (well, dealing damage). For example, Light Armor would be a great skill to have. As for perks, feel free. Any perk that can and will help you out is great to have. Pick and choose as you please. (I've included a perk spread for any and all magical based skills you will be needing. Any other perks are your decision whether or not to get. Click here to see the perk spread!)

Equipment: Feel as free as you want with this one. Armor, no armor, whatever tickles your fancy. But, whatever you wear, you're going to need to have a Restoration enchantment on something. Anything to reduce the cost of Restoration spells, it is the school you use the most. It'd also be great to include enchantments for the other schools of magic you'll be using (no Destruction). I'd also recommend armor, as protecting your followers should be your main goal, not yourself. Now, here's where things differ a bit from other builds. Your followers. You may give each of them their own separate armor/weapons, whatever pertains to their role.  For example, you may give your archer Leather Armor and a leveled bow. As well as a ring with an Archery enchantment. Have fun with this. (on a side note, use shouts as you please)

Gameplay: Now, here's the bread and butter. You've probably guessed this by now, but you're not attacking. At all. Now, before you leave, because I know this sounds like a turn off, hear me out. Your main strategy is to follow your companions into battle and heal them whenever it is needed. They do the dirty work. My strategy, although you guys could come up with one way better, is to start out by using Courage on your followers. This buffs them up for the battle. I then take out my summons. Although, later on you shouldn't have to do this, as your Thralls stay with you until they die. I may then run in head first, use Marked for Death (be very careful not to hit one of your followers), and back up, allowing my followers to do their job and heal them when needed. This applies to big battles. As for smaller ones, I just send in one follower capable of getting the job done. Do not kill unless it is required for a quest. Although some quests have workarounds, try to find them. For example, the Dark Brotherhood questline, order your follower to take care of contracts (kill). There is leeway. For example, I kill when in my Werewolf form, you may do the same (or Vampire Lord). You may also kill undead if you want to, putting various restoration spells to use. Have as much leeway as you want, as long as you don't stray too far from the "no attacking" objective.

Optional glitch: I'm sure some of you have heard of the Dark Brotherhood multiple follower glitch. It allows you to have Cicero and the Dark Brotherhood Initiates as followers, as well as any other one in the game, your choice. You may also do this with Serana (add on an animal and your summons and you're set). If you do not know about this glitch, search it up, it really adds to the build. Of course, if you have access to mods, you could just get a multiple follower mod to make the deal sweeter. Of course, this is completely optional. One follower, summons, and an animal is more than enough to get the job done.

(Bonus) Factions: If you plan on doing the glitch, you're going to have to join the Dark Brotherhood. If you're character isn't one for that, you could roleplay a reason why they're apart of it. Other than that, any other guild is fine. I recommend the College of Winterhold for the master spells and access to many spells/enchantments.

(Double Bonus) Example Situation: At the request of a few nice members, I've decided to write out an example situation involving the build. So, here goes. You're stranded out in the middle of nowhere with your crew, look any direction you want, all you see is snow. You hear a familiar roar, and, as anybody with prior knowledge of a dangerous situation would do, you prepare. Without warning, you cast a Courage spell on your friends around you. They ask no questions, they know somethings up. And, as anticipated, a beast tears through the sky, as if rupturing through the fabric of space and time itself. A Dragon. He's there before you have nary a chance to prepare, out of pure instinct, you shout, "Krii Lun Aus!". It strikes. That should makes things quite a bit easier. You watch as your personal Frost Atronach, Frosty, stomps on by. Bolt the Storm Atronach and Shadowmere follow suit. You speed up, paces behind the group, the beast lands. Cicero is quick on his feet, you can't believe he had the balls to stick that staff in the monster's mouth. He blasts it, and sure enough, the Dragon staggers. It turns around, whipping poor Cicero with it's tail. Frosty catches him. He gently places him on a bed of snow, and you sit by his side, pumping life into his body with your Healing Hands spell. He stands. You run up, and get behind the initiates, they're going head on with the Dragon. They both unleash head on attacks directed at the beast, when it spurts out an unending gout of fire. You lock on to both of them, not letting up with your healing magics. They survive, untouched. Any normal person would have ran away about now, but, well, that Courage spell can really come in handy. Faendal rides up on Shadowmere, bow drawn. And fires the fiery bolt directly into the Dragon's throat. It sways, giving Bolt the perfect opportunity to fire off his newly charged "bolt" of magical essence (but you could call it lightning). It hits, and the Dragon lies dead. You let out a sigh of relief. The battle is done and over with.

This build could be taken as many things, a challenge, a fresh new way to play the game, etc. Whatever you do, have fun, and feel free to make any changes you see fit, this is just a concept. Also, roleplay it up (for example, why you don't attack)! I look forward to making more builds for this website, and getting to meet you guys. Have a good day!

I rather liked this, Blub! For a first build, it covers all the bases and reads very well. Haven't really seen a build formatted this way before, but it flows fine. There are, however, two things pertaining to the rules to sort out. The title should be "Character Build: The Pure Healer". That helps people instantly distinguish builds on the front page, and makes everything look neat and uniform in the archives. Second, and more importantly, a perk spread (preferable) or at least a list of perks (much less preferable) is a must. A link to the perks on SkyrimCalc is helpful, but people prefer being able to see them right here.

Anyway, nice job for your first build

The build is good, please just let me make a few helpful hints on improving the format?

1.) Don't put everything in BOLD. It starts to get rather irritating if you're writing in long sentences, do you get what I am saying?  Try just using it on the Headers, you've done the exact opposite here, though...

2.) The end picture, although amusing, looks rather....untidy? You don't see Legendary builds with pictures like that... just sayin'.

3.) Try to go into more detail. How would a standard encounter play out? When do you switch weapons/spells/use abilities? You've managed this relatively well, so, no complaints there, really. But more is usually better

4.) With the Backstory paragraph, you go from using two different fonts and formats at the same time, which also looks rather untidy....

5.) Try adding more pictures, even. A few great links - Skyrim Art Group

Alright, I went ahead and fixed your tags for you (you need to include quotation marks with any tags that start with "Character Build" and you also need a rank tag) and adjusted the title as well (as others have said, it should be "Character Build: The Pure Healer). Secondly, you need to include a perk spread of some sort, or at least tell us what perks you used. This is one of the minimum requirements, so until you add a perk spread, I have to feature this build. That means you have 24 hours to add it or it gets deleted. It's a simple fix though, so you can easily have it done well before then.

I also second the advice the Boro and Nelaf have to give; it's really good stuff.

Finished that a little ago, and thank you for the tags. I thought the Character Build thing came automatically, so I left it out. Thank you for your help!

It would probably be better to have the link to the perks in the section where you talk about the skills; so that's it's easier to find.
