Absolutely, thanks for the feedback!
Defense was a big concern for me when I made the build, mainly because I usually don't play on the much harder difficulties. In many ways, I wanted this character to be what he would be in real life: A character who is seen as a viable threat, but really isn't a powerhouse warrior. End Game, yes, he might have a harder time once bandits get very powerful armor, but the build wasn't necessarily designed to take down automatons and dragons. Making it a roleplay experience, I wanted the Cavalier to pick and choose what he could and couldn't handle. Perhaps this means that the cavalier doesn't have high play value, but most non-combat centered characters don't. Hopefully that doesn't sound like a cop-out

A few, of course! It wouldn't be Skyrim otherwise xD
In those moments, I relied on the paralysis effect of either the rapier, or the serpent stone if you're really in a jam. If the enemy was too tough to fight on low health, running away after knocking him to the ground for a bit was surprisingly helpful!

Few builds are here are balanced for Legendary. Most players agree that Legendary is more absurd than it is challenging. And 0 AR builds are perfectly viable at higher difficulties. I would know since none of my builds to date have much in the way of defense, but are very good at avoiding damage entirely.
Also horse riding isnt all its cracked up to be in Skyrim.
