This build was created in my aim to make a build that does not use serious offensive magic, but still at the same time is able to maintain a quantifiable amount of damage and protect itself fairly well.

    17th Last Seed, 2E 401

It has been too long since I have set foot on land. Travelling by boat from Artaeum was perhaps not the best of decisions, but when I hear about the greed and corruption that is tainting these far away lands, I can't but help think that the sacrifice is worth it. These people must be made aware of the crimes they have paid, and so in Julianos' honour I come.

Race: Imperial is best suited as it has a bonus in both Block + Restoration which are both major skills within the build. If you for whatever reason dislike Imperials, Altmer are a firm choice because of the Magicka boost.

Stone: Apprentice Stone works well as this character is firmly a Draugr Hunter build with an edge.

    Ratio: On a scale of Magicka/Health/Stamina - 3/2/0 per every 5 levels.

    Backstory

The Evangelist is a missionary build, meaning that it is focusing on Religious aspects and changing people's religious beliefs. The Evangelist has travelled all the way from their private residence on Artaeum, Summerset Isles.

The private residence was a monastery, where prestigious crusaders would live a life of luxury. The Evangelist gave it all up to save the corrupt and non-Julianic nation of Skyrim. Perhaps they heard about the Dragon Crisis, and came to save people from the strife.

Ultimately, The Evangelist is a born Undead Hunter. Julianos lives in a tyrannic world where Undead haunt and steal from the Magicka basins of Aetherius, their job as his sole saviour is to remove their existence. The Draugr are a primary antagonist to the Evangelist, as they use frost magic that steal from the Magicka pool.

    18th Last Seed, 4E 201

It is so cold in this barren land, and I have already witnessed the magnificence of a dragon. Perhaps, I have witnessed too closely the magnificence, as it perched itself on the keep above my head.

According to Skyrim laws, wanting to cross the border and save people's lives is a crime. Anyways, now I'm out, thanks to a kind soldier, i'll head to their residence in Riverwood and there I may be able to get more information on the Draugr infestation...

    Major Skills

    Block

The Evangelist uses the Spellbreaker as a Ward to fight off Draugr Magic when hunting them down. They also bash the Spellbreaker off of enemies to knock them to the ground.

    Restoration

The Evangelist uses spells purchased from the honourable Dawnguard to burn the Undead in pure sunlight. They also use it to heal themselves in battle, they have no need for wards due to the Spellbreaker.

    Light Armor

The Evangelist uses Armor forged in Artaeum, specialised to deflect hits from the Undead, and of course when fighting regular enemies too. This eradicates need for the Alteration Skill which may be needed in other mage builds.

    Minor Skills

    Smithing

Forging armor and boosting the Spellbreaker as an Arcane Blacksmith is important to maintaining the protection of The Evangelist.

    Enchanting

Relaying enchantments onto armor is important, having out of battle skills also.

    Gameplay

As with all builds I make, I have set goals:

    • To complete as many Nordic Burials as possible, these dungeons harbour the most evil Undead of all, Draugr.
    • To join and complete the Dawnguard Questline to gain the Endgame Armor and the right side of the Dawnguard, many of these are religious fighters.
    • To eradicate the Dark Brotherhood, these people are often considered vampires and agents of death,

    Battle Style

When in battle, focus on using those big restoration knockouts:
    Sun Fire
    Stendarr's Aura

They cost very little when you get to higher levels, which gives you an opportunity to fire rapidly at enemies with these spells. Also, I found when playing this that keeping Spellbreaker up whilst doing Ranged Attacks came in very handy.

When in close combat, start using spells like Circle Of Protection & Turn Greater Undead to keep undead further away, this will help boost those long range attacks which are so precious to the build. When you are reaching higher levels with the build, one of the most useful spells you will find is Bane Of The Undead because of it's ability to quickly kill off Draugr Deathlords etc.

When fighting non-undead, this build becomes slightly Cleric-like. Using a follower as a meat shield while you heal them. However this does support the Healer side to the build which can sometimes feel lost when playing the unique battle style.

    Gear

    1. Dukaan Mask, can be found in White Ridge Barrow, it is used purely for the looks, but it can be exchanged for pretty much any Dragon Priest Mask depending on your preference.
    2. Ancient Falmer Armor, found at the end of the Dawnguard Questline. Should be enchanted with Fortify Block.
    3. Ancient Falmer Gauntlets, should be enchanted with Fortify Light Armor
    4. Ancient Falmer Boots, should be enchanted with Resist Frost.
    5. Amulet of Julianos.

    Roleplay

When roleplaying this build, an important factor to remember is the religious side and always following your religious and finding time to pray and remember that you are a servant to your lord. Praying and performing religious rituals also helps with character development, and should make you want to play the character more as it stimulates a list of rules to stick by.

Try and help as many people as possible, although this might not be a fully orthodox healer build, it is still firmly routed in restoration magic, so healing the wounded is important to your character.

Should I use Elven armor or Dawnguard light armor before the Ancient Falmer? Morokeii matches pretty Wellington with this set, plus is light armor And augmets the Altmet Racial(with restoration perks, plus the mask and Altmer Racial you wouldn't need any mana potions nor stop healing or smiting undead) This is good but feels that you can add more(like how to fight a non-undead foes?) +1 anyways

Pretty good, I like the idea of a religious fighter who uses offensive restoration magic. The offensive restoration magic that came with Dawnguard DLC, was the base magic for a build I have in the works. The only thing I dislike ( this is purely personal preference), is the use of dragon priest masks for equipment. I don't like the look of them, its mainly the hood on them, it looks weird and it can ruin the look of certain armors. But rant aside you did good and have my like.

Same here, I usually use hoods on my characters until I noticed it hid almost their whole head(disfiguring it IMO) so I opted for circlets, and end up using Diadem of the Savant(all magic spells reduced cost) is weaker that Archmage's Robes but can add a bit of charges to your enchanted weapons and the such, plus it's classed as light armor(gives armor rating) AND can be used with heavy armor(can match heavy and light armor perks) but also as clothing. Making it my must get piece for any character. Only drawback is the 5 unit weight. The heaviest circlet in game :( With a glitch I found(and posted here on the blog) and an Adept hood I can get good appeal and usefulness :) But Dukaan does look nice

Kyle, you can use an Elven helmet with the Ancient Falmer and benefit even from Matching set.

Didn't think of that, thanks for the heads up. Its just that I don't like the look of the dragon priest masks is all.

I personally love Linwe's/Blackguards hood with ancient Falmer gear, looks like a badass holy warrior, which is exactly what this guy is.

Ok, but what about good vampires like Serena or the Solitude Court Wizard, is he gonna destroy them? You can cure Serena but not the wizard.
