This is my first proper build. I've tried out several of the ones on this blog, most of which i think are wonderful and really creative. This is my creation. I give to you:

    The Disgraced Pilgrim

"...as i entered Markarth, I met another Vigilant, who told me he suspected one of the houses was being used for Deadra worship. I went in, not expecting what was to come. Trapped by Molag Bal, I prayed to the Nine for aid, but none came. I struck the Vigilant down. When Bal imprisoned me, I prayed again, and still no answers were heard. When I brought the priest to be sacrificed, I prayed a third time, pleading for the Nine to intervene. Silence. I was wrong about the Nine. they do not speak to us. Only the Daedra. They are the true gods. And they are the gods I will forever serve..."

This is essentially a religious warrior that benefits from the restoration tree, using healing spells in battle to compensate for lost health, using wards to foil mages, and using turn undead spells when fighting the likes of Draugr and so on. She also uses heavy armor to shrug off most attacks while smashing her way through hoards with a mace.

Race: Imperial - huge bonus to restoration on new game allows for quick access of Fast Healing

    Gender: Female

Stone: Lord - The added damage mitigation and resistance to magic is incredibly helpful

Weapon: Vanquisher (Mace W/fire damage) Mace of Molag Bal

    Stats: 2/2/1

Abilities: Agent of Dibella, Agent of Mara, Sailor's Repose

Key Quests: Companion Questline, Civil War, Heart of Dibella, Book of Love, House of Horrors, Boethiah's calling, Dawnguard

    Major Skills:

One-Handed: The Pilgrim uses the Mace to crush her foes. While most people avoid the mace for its slow DPS, if used properly it is more than adequate to destroy enemies. simply dodging out of the way and swinging back should take off a reasonable chunk of health at higher levels.

Heavy Armor: Inevitably, one is going to get hit hard in Skyrim. Heavy Armor helps to compensate for this and give higher mitigation. Normally i'm a light armor guy, but for this build heavy armor is a must.

Restoration: The pinnacle skill that this build revolves around. Healing yourself, throwing up wards to thwart magi, and casting turn undead spells in crypts to send Draugr running for their mothers!

    Minor Skills:

Smithing: This seems to be necessary for most builds, but more so for this as the more protection you have, the more damage you can deal before needing to take a break and heal. I have personally gone down both sides of the tree as i love the look of steel plate.

Enchanting: This allows the Pilgrim to imbue her armor with powerful enchantments. Most importantly, Fortify Restoration and Magicka Regen allows you to cast more Restoration spells.. Also important is fortify One Handed so that you can deal out maximum damage. Weapon enchanting is also key: Fire damage seems most obvious as it affects many enemies, including nords, vampires, spiders and the undead. Fiery Soul Trap is also viable although it does not benefit from any enchanting perks.

Alteration: Alteration serves two purposes: It allows magical armor spells to be cast before battle, and the Transmute spell is very helpful when leveling up smithing. At higher levels spells like paralysis can also be used in battle.

    Gameplay

Vs melee opponents: Always try and size up the situation first. Cast a magical armor spell to give you a better chance, then switch to healing spells. Smash away with the mace, and use power attacks when you have to. Heal when your health drops below half. With the regeneration perk it should pop back up to around full, depending on your level and which restoration spells you can cast. The perk Respite is always handy here as it will regenerate your stamina when you cast a healing spell.

Vs Magi: This is where the use of wards comes into play. Again, try and cast an alteration spell beforehand, then get your ward ready. Remember they take time to charge. With practice you can anticipate spell attacks and throw up wards when you need to so that you conserve magicka for later use. Fights become easier when you get the Ward Absorb perk, which recharges your Magicka when your ward is hit by a spell.

Vs Undead: Fights with the undead are normally not much of a challenge due to the use of Turn Undead spells. Cast a magical armor spell, then simply rush in and attack with mage while casting Turn Undead. Always try and attack Draugr while they get out of their sleep like state. Skeletons become slightly trickier with Dawnguard installed as there are now 4 types of skeleton, although turning them will usually work.

Vs Dragons: Dragon fights, especially on higher difficulty levels, are not easy. Fortunately, they will always give you a breather when they fly off, breaking the combat flow, giving you time to cast both a magical armor spell, and a healing spell if necessary. When they land, try and stick to their wings, as this is their weakest attack. DON'T FORGET that dragons will one shot you, a lot. So always heal before it's too late!

    The Champion of the Nine

The first half of this playthrough sees the Pilgrim travel to the 9 cities of Skyrim to each temple of the Nine, helping the townsfolk where she can. for the purposes of RP, start in Whiterun and travel down to Riften, up through Windhelm and Winterhold, then left to Dawnstar, Morthal and Solitude and finally to Markarth and Falkreath.

    Factions:

The Companions: As a proven warrior, the Pilgrim wished to test her mettle, only to discover the companions are cursed with Lycanthropy, at which point she abandoned them.

The Legion: While a worshiper of Talos herself in secret, the Pilgrim despises Ulfric's use of a deity to further himself. She also understands the Legion's job of keeping the Thalmor in check.

The Vigilants of Stendarr: Aid them when they are in danger, and make a trip to the Hall of the Vigilant.

    The Daedra's minion

The turning point of this playthrough is during the quest House of Horrors. After seeing the power of Molag Bal, and with the Nine showing no sign of intervention, the Pilgrim abandons the gods for the Daedric  Princes. She becomes more sinister, adopting Conjuration into her arsenal as she raises the dead to help her deal with enemies.

    Factions:

The Companions: She finally embraces the beast blood in favour of Hircine and smites her foes with her new-found power.

The Volkihar: Sinister ambitions lead the Pilgrim down the dark path of vampirism, curing her of lycanthropy and turning her into something even more deadly - especially with the Necromage perk.

Well guys, i hope you enjoyed reading this, i put a lot of time into this creation, and i hope you all have a blast with it. even if one person had a go with it, i'd be chuffed.

This is a good first build, I'll give you my like, but you need to work on it a bit more. +1

You may want to remove color coding. It makes the build look more "childish", and is not necessary. I think you used it to distinguish between the alignment paths, but the images do that and better. I also suggest you center your images and section titles and move "The Daedra's Minion" title under the second image. You'll also do good to add a gameplay section where you describe how you deal with different combat scenarios. And make the skill, race, stone names stand out, make the bold or something like that (you can also use icons from wiki or UESP). You listed three crafting skills in your minor skills section, were they all really necessary? With healing in one hand you won't need healing potions and applying poison to the mace during the combat breaks immersion. The fire damage from Fiery Soul Trap that you use doesn't benefit from Enchanting skill or perks and the duration for soul trap is irrelevant, it's actually better to have it at 1 sec for more charges. I'd also refrain from calling it RP build - there were a few pure RP builds and your build is not like them, people might get a wrong idea.

This is an alright start, but needs to be spell checked. It could also do with some more pictures if I'm being picky. Check out Pointy's new guide to character building for some more help.

I feel like the explanations for various build elements could be more concisely explained. Everything is way too wordy, and that will drive readers away. Also pictures says lot, so incorporate some more to break up the text walls, and give your readers a feel for what a disgraced pilgrim looks like.

I've taken all your advice and given it a revamp in terms of images and the length of it all. Thanks again guys.

If you could elaborate more on how the disgraced pilgrims darker half fights various enemies and the strategies it uses that would really improve the build a lot. Without such a section the build feels like it ends suddenly.

This is pretty great. I dig the "vs ___" section. Good use of restoration in many ways.

Glad this made it through. Really dig the RP element especially.
