Hiya mate! In case you drop by the blog again, just wanted to say thanks for posting this. My main, Arche, has always been a hedge mage of sorts, self-sufficient and relying on her bow instead of on spells. I'm trying her out as a Forester and having a lot of fun! Did you ever get the chance to play this build using all three DLCs? Hearthfire is a huge game changer for any alchemist.
This is the perk planning I've done for my personal variant. She's not as ninja-sneaky (I will be wearing boots with muffle) or as dedicated to mastery of the sword, but she will be parrying like a baws and can temper the advanced crossbows from Dawnguard. I think a "special forces" Legionnaire should master both the bow and the crossbow!
Since I'm not gonna use shouts or do any main questline except as required for the Civil War questline, I also just had to get that second perk in Steady Hand. Hopefully I can find a good Absorb Stamina bow later on so I can Matrix Mode all the dungeons.
I'll post updates as I play! So far, she's just been clearing meanies from around the Pinewatch area using lingering+instant poisons in combination with standard sword/bow tactics. I got lucky in Falkreath and a guard died to some kind of bug. Now I'm dressed as a Falkreath guard, shield included! Once I've built up a bit more notoriety and fully furnished the small house at Lakeview, she'll be joining the Legion and become their first Forester in the province of Skyrim.
