Achieved level 10 today and the story is coming fairly easy.  If I would do anything different it might be to perk up heavy armor more and 2 handed less.  That said with Lydia's death there are some role play possiblites.  The Smithing restriciton cuts both ways as it can take perks that you might want to put somewhere else but at the same time smithing being high means armor and weapons are the best they could be.  Looking forward to the next 10 levels.

Been a great day.  Had a lot of fun playing and then writing about it.  The character is starting to take ona life of her own.  I still have some issue to work out but the combo is still pretty good.  Limiting the Armor selection has not really impacted the character negatively.  The real issue is that I am trying to make this charcacter a loner but that may have to come later, having a follower simply takes some of the heat off and that helps her odds of survival.  The roleplay has been outstanding.

This may or may not fit into your roleplay, but have you considered one of the dogs as a pet follower? Though not as powerful as a human follower, with a pet follower Anya could still be a loner yet have someone take a bit of the heat off of her in the midst of battle.

Vigilance, the war dog and may or may not fit in with your character.

Since Meeko is alone now that his master is dead, Anya may sympathize with him since she knows how it feels to lose her own loved ones.

The search for Barbas (who is invincible) involves interacting with a blacksmith. Given her profession, this may be a feasible encounter for Anya. Though a talking dog may or may not fit in with your roleplay.

I'm enjoying reading your blogs as much as I'm enjoying following this character build. I was thrilled to see 6 new entries since I last checked. In fact, I'm going to read them now!  :)

Meeko might be perfect.  Loners often gravitate to pets to compensate for relationships.  Great idea.

    Thanks

Have to make a few notes here:

    1) The fights are difficult but I haven't been killed yet.  Defintiely the plan to focus on defense more than offense is a good one.  The Heavy Armor perks also fit the blacksmith role play pretty well.

    2) I am not sure I will stick with lycanthropy but it is an introduciton to the daedra and it is their currupting influence as well as her own rage that will ultimately push her to the dark side.  The final straw will be the Ebony Blade and Mephala's tugs on her strings.

    3) It should be noted that to keep the smithing as central to the character, when you have the money, buying iron ingots and leather strips to make iron daggers is a must.  Currently she is at 48 smithing so a couple perks will be required very soon.

    4) I think a pet might go better with tihs build than a person as follwoer.  It fits the loner motif better and still gets the advantage of having another target for the bad guys.

Ok, reached level 20 and the transition of the character has started from heroine to villian.  For all of you that have commented I would appreciate a look at what I have now.  I have to say if I were to do anything different it is prioritize heavy armor because it leads to suvivablity but the roleplay is great with a lot of the Heavy Armor perks as well

    Thanks,

I'm not a builder so don't have any input regarding the build itself. However, I did read your latest blog entries and think that replacing your human followers with Meeko seems more in line with the lone character you're portraying.

I had wondered how you were going to transition from heroine to villan and the justification she gives regarding spies and traitors against the Stormcloaks fits with the character's backstory.

Looking forward to seeing Anya's further character development! :)

Meeko was working out great but somehow I lost him during the Battle for Whiterun,  I couldn't even find a body.  That said the Ebony Blade has made this build quite resiliant at this point. From a Roleplay point of view, the loss of Meeko could factor in and I have some plans for added Civil War objectives to make thing interesting.  Part of that will involve rooting out spies and traitors.

Thanks for reading.  This has been a real interesting project.

I'm not sure if it would fit into your roleplay to obtain another dog, but if so then Barbas might be a suitable companion now that Anya has turned dark. Barbas is actually a shapeshifting Daedra with lore dating back to the second era. Barbas has been depicted with Clavicus Vile in the Daggerfall and Oblivion games and in either his dog form or his shapeshifted form in other Elder Scrolls games.

The quest involves interaction with a blacksmith which would be entirely feasible given Anya's profession. In order to keep Barbas as a follower the quest must not be completed which means missing out on the Daedric artifact, the Masque of Clavicus Vile. Barbas is invulnerable, meaning he cannot be harmed at all.

    Lore:Barbas

The Ebony Blade has some very dark lore tied to it and seems ideal for a character headed down a dark path.
