No, I meant offhand. Your main hand is getting the elemental fury effect, and as I said the game only checks that when determining flurry speed. With elemental fury on you'll attack normally with your main hand on it's own and super speed with your offhand. You don't need to explain it to everyone, I think that was perfectly clear from the Skyblade description...
As for wards just put it up a second or so before you think they're going to attack. If you're fighting an enemy mage you've got from when they start the cast animation to when the spell hits you, so that's enough time to get a full strength ward. Ward Absorb is a really cool underrated perk, when fighting tough mage you can just put a ward up for a second or so and absorb a load of magicka from say an Incinerate.
