If you're corrupt, you have to bribe the corrupt guildmaster to put in a good word for you with the honest guildmaster. Then, you have to do a favour for the honest GM to prove your ability. Honest members do not have to bribe the guildmaster, nor do they have to do a favour.
Nah, Favoured Skills are just those skills that Karver and I saw as the most fitting for each specialization. Deviating from them is completely fine.

Alright cool, thanks Kael'than. I understand now :D
Edit: Oh, and unless I missed it, the base payment for a job is missing. I dunno if you guys were planning on adding that in when you add the contracts or what.

Kael said it somewhere, but I can´t find it. The paymant will be different for each contract, so we´ll be listing the rewards at the same time when we´ll announce new contracts.

There is no base payment for jobs. Each contract has their own payment reward, depending on urgency, the job, and the like (And the contracter). The payment will be listed alongside the contracts (Which will be posted here, in the comments)
Regarding the favoured skills, deviating a little bit is fine. Ie, replacing blade with blunt/H2H or alteration with conjuration. But replacing the favoured skills of a guard with, say, restoration, alchemy and sneak would not be accepted. So deviation is fine, as long as it's to a related skill.
EDIT: After discussion, Karver and I have decided that we'll be implementing a rule which only allows people to change one of the favoured skills to a related skill.

Ok, I just had to make a new reply to fit my newly-cropped picture in :D
Edit: Humblest of apologies, Administrator Kael :P. I just noticed the friend request.

My Administrators,
I have arrived in the Imperial City, thank goodness. After travelling around its markets, I have discovered a shop in need of assistance. Have I your permission to help out one shopowner? I ask no reward for this, the cementing of our grasp in the City shall be reward enough, and alliance with certain shopkeepers may prove beneficial. Though this may lie more in the realm of an Ambassador, I am sure I would be able to handle such a task.
Please Consider,
Temdryn Calydos
