RPing a Vigilante in Windhelm: Need Help/Ideas

Hey everyone! Some of you might remember the character profile I made a while back (a Dunmer named Sa'dri which sadly hasn't seemed to make the transition between the old site and the new), which was based heavily upon Frank Miller's dark and unforgiving version of Batman that appeared in The Dark Knight Returns. Since then I've been blessed with a new computer for video gaming, and have decided to breathe some updated life into this character...

One problem though: thanks to Skyrim's technical limitations it seems I'm having a difficult time immersing myself in this new role. I'm able to strike fear into the heart of Rolff-Stone fist... for about 6 seconds before he casually says "I'll let you live... this time" and strolls on by my vigilante, completely unafraid of the figure that had just assaulted him. I try it again, this time using both hands, and then it becomes your typical "guards suddenly know everything and go straight for your character" scenario. No chance to disappear or anything, they just automatically seek me out like they have guilt-vision or something.

I'm not presently aware of any mods which add any kind of enchantment to a clothing item that will make its wearer scary to NPC's, aside from one... though there's no information on how exactly the modder programmed this mask to make NPC's behave this way. I did find a few mods to at least help give Sa'dri a relatively diverse arsenal including stun grenades, trick arrows, and cloaking bombs, but that's about it. Also thanks to these mods she has a mask to hide her identity, but this in turn makes it difficult to do quests as her alter-ego since nobody talks to her masked self. So basically she can fight well but as for actually defending the Gray Quarter and Windhelm in general from crime and corruption? Meh... working on it. Any chance you guys could help add to this playthrough?

Also wouldn't mind a mod or two which could help give Sa'dri more things to do as her alter-ego The Raven, such as maybe local crime or something along those lines... but far as I know this sort of thing doesn't exist. :/

Oooooh, awesome design. :D A mod with this armor set would be a must-have.

Heh, yeah. But beside this picture I don´t know how to help you. Beside using Fear spells. And I think there are some mods that make guards less like Jedi.

Otherwise you have set very difficult RP for yourself. I don´t know about any Windhelm quest mods or even Skyrim quest mods (really, Skyrim modders suck at making good quest mods like for Oblivion) that would help you with the immersion. Very difficult RP.

Yeah, you're telling me. :P It's amazing, really; I can RP just about anything else... ... ... provided of course it involves a lot of killing or generally simplistic mayhem around Skyrim. I have considered doing an assassin/serial killer RP by updating my Whispering Death build a slight bit, but compared to a Batman-esque vigilante, that's a lot more straightforward.

What about just using a high sneak skill/enchantments/potion in addition to an invisibility effect and Muffle right after you've 'done justice'? The Guards cant arrest what isn't there.
Also, you could use the Windhelm Home with the secret door as your 'Bat-Cave' but I think you already figured that one out.

Windhelm home with the secret door... you mean Hjerim? That'd work, though I'll consider at least finding a mod to add a basement area.

And I could try that, although knowing Skyrim's AI they'd be able to pull Sa'dri out of a dark room on a moonless night even when she's wearing all black... AND is invisible. At least that's how it's been in my experience.

If your sneak skill is high enough they wont find you. Note that muffled running still kinda makes a noise when someone is after you. It doesn't behave like this when you're completely hidden.

Maybe use some means of distraction or hinder their search with an ash-rune, planted where you're about to disappear, which would completely stop the initial attack. Alternatives would be to use a familliar which will attract the guards' attention for some seconds until it's dead.
Another way would be to use some words of Slow Time to slip past the people's eyes. It is a very powerful tool that could even be used for your main task (in conjunction with an alteration potion to increase the duration). Just imagine yourself, after activating it, jumping off a roof, disabling the first one with a paralyzing strike from your knife , taking the other ones weapons via pickpocket, using Throw Voice behind the third to turn him around, away from you and deal more dmg to him with your unarmed sneak attack - all of this in a matter of seconds and no time in their eyes.

That... is an amazing strategy right there. I might just have to put that to use! Thanks! :)

Which of them? :D I'd prefer the Ash-Rune strategy because it's the most effective one of the 2 (-3).
