Since the beginning we have carried things like a pack mule: 20 Daggers, 50 Potions, 900 Arrows, A collection of armors, etc... And that's a huge immersion break.
So I present you a guide of how to use your character inventory without breaking immersion

Same. I try to keep my encumbrance below 30% at all times. So, if I can only carry 300, then I can't have more than 100 (with a soft margin of error).

That's a very good post Jo! Some things I use in addition to those: the other food I carry has to be the kind that stays fresh for long, like Salmon Steaks. I usually eat cheese and bread on breakfast as well. For my Alchemists I always wear gloves that cover all the hand with fingers, not something like Shrouded Hand Wraps. I also always carry an iron dagger with me to gather the ingredients. I also wear armor that has some pockets or bags on the side that can serve as a bag for ingredients. The good thing about iron dagger is that in Sky Haven Temple it is weird if you don't have an iron dagger but your character somehow pulls out one and cuts his hand. For thieves I also always carry a shiv and pick the locks only if I have one.

I see your point, but it never says 20,000 pounds of gold anywhere. That said, ive never had that much on a RP character anyway. Probably because my only source of income is furs, or i don't loot armor etc.

It's hard to equate Skyrim prices to RL. Both prices and weights are illogical in the world of Skyrim - We all know that 20 bees do not weigh a 2 lbs (.9 kg), in real life, yet they do in Skyrim. I'm not even sure the weight in Skyrim is meant to be pounds - so, 20 bees do not equal the weight of an iron dagger, in real life....
We do know that an ingot of gold is valued at 50 septims (which may be an alloy instead of pure gold, but let's not further complicate matters). Since a gold ingot weighs 1 unit, it may be safe to say that 1 septim = 1/50 of a unit (which we are assuming is a pound). Or in other words 50 gold septims = 1 pound (.45 kg).
I personally do not worry about money weight in the world of Skryim. There are many ways to handle large sums of money. For example, I can imagine that there are coins of various denominations, or perhaps some of my money is composed of gems; or a septim has a minor magical enchantment that greatly reduces its weight (a feather spell varient), etc. Also, it is illogical to assume that when you purchase Proudspire manor, that we didn't actually count out 25000 gold pieces...nor was I carrying an actual 25k in 'single' coins.
