What do you mean I have to start over?: A guide to surviving Dea

You forgot to say install Frostfall, disable fast travel, install Realistic Needs and Diseases or a clone, and make your DiD life truly a living hell - even the environment can kill you.

Oh, and take a few dozen hours coming up with the prefect character and backstory and then cry yourself to sleep when (s)he dies around level 25 or so.

^This is my experience playing DiD. Fun, but brutal as hell.

Dead is Dead? What is it?

If at any point during your playthrough you die then it's over, you delete you character and start a new one.

There are ways to circumvent this, like in my Rock of Stendarr build in which you can only load if you wear an Amulet of a Divine

That's not really Dead is Dead then Chris...The point is there is no re-spawn. Your idea (while cool) isn't dead is dead.

True, I've been thinking of doing a build based on that. A disgraced knight that must redeem himself by dying in battle, or something

Another humble tip: In early levels, do not steal or kill named NPC. This Hired Tugs are a mortal pain... Amazing post. Thanks.
