Injecting potions straight into the bloodstream.

    Hi everybody,

I have been lurking here for some time and came up with a lil' trick I could find only one vague reference to on Google, so I thought it could be helpful to share it with you guys.

The trick I wanted to highlight is the use of poisoned weapons given to minions to apply, for instance, crafting potions on yourself. What makes this trick worthwile is that the positive effect can be significantly increased by a similar use of a Weakness to Poison-poison.

A way to do this would be as follows:

Craft a poison that had a Fortify Enchanting or Smithing effect and a defining detrimental effect, such as Damage Magica/Stamina Regen, Fear of Frenzy or whatever.

Craft a good Weakness to Poison-poison.

Have two (preferrably non-mage) corpses beside an Enchanting table of a forge.

Poison two shitty weapons with one of the poisons each.

Raise the Weakness to Poison-corpse and aggravate him into hitting you

Do the same with the Fortify Skill-corpse.

Enjoy crafts that are stronger than that of a Necromage Vampire without using Fortify Restoration potions.

There are many other ways to apply this bonus, such as using reverse pickpocketing or using staves/ the Ritual stone to preserve the bodies for re-use.

Note that poison resistances ruin the viability of this technique, so Vampires cannot use this and for the greatest effect possible, a Necromage Vampire must cure himself in between using this (but become a Vampire again to get the 25% bonus on enchanted gear).

Redguards and Bosmer are also in trouble, but I found that turning into a Werewolf changes their race and temporarily lifts their natural poison resistance. If you cannot have two dead Thralls, the ritual stone effect lasts longer than a minimum Werewolf transformation, so they will have to make use of an exceedingly arcane ritual in order to obtain these effects. This could of course only be done once a day, unless the character owns Hicine's ring and possibly the Aetherial Crown.
For these races it also means that a loop using the Necromage Vampire effect can be done only twice, since you can only contract Lycanthropy twice.

As you have probably noticed, I have given no quantitative values on the benefits of this method. This is because my (Redguard) character has not yet fully reached the cap of this effect and because I am using mods that introduce cloaks and hoods over circlets, which I have chosen to incorporate in the lengthy Alchemy-enchanting process.

I do hope there will be people here who see researching the results and possible applications of this method as a challenge and I am looking forward to see what they will have found out.

    Cheers.

Interesting idea! I wonder whether a Weakness to Magic poison would also compound the effect at all?

I recently tried drinking a custom potion with Weakness to Magic as a secondary effect, to see if I could use that to buff enchantments, standing stones, etc. But it didn't work. I wonder if it would have worked if I'd instead given a poisoned weapon to a follower and had him whack me with the weakness poison instead....

I believe Weakness to Magic poisons cannot be used to buff any positive traits, since one cannot combine positive and negative effects in a single spell, like we can with Alchemy. And purely positive effects don't work for the Alchemy trick either.

Really cool idea! I haven't featured any quality content in a while so I'm giving this a feature.
